A Ticking Time bomb......birth Control Pill

Yup, I was on Tri Cyclen and it made me crazy. Good you haven't snapped, yet, I couldn't take it and would snap at everything. My husband would steer clear of me. My doc said it was the Tri Cyclen part. So, switched to a non-Tri Cyclen and was fine. If it's making you crazy definitely switch. I have a para-guard IUD now, no hormones at all and after 18 mos of being off the pill I am finally feeling normal again and my body is back to "normal".

My doc told me straight out that different pills can make different people....ummmm...."crazy" (for lack of a better word!).
Talk to your doc & have him switch you!

I went off of BCP because I couldn't stand how awfully they were messing with my moods. I never had problems in my 20s or early 30s, but after having my kids and going back on, at first I felt fantastic, but after a few years, I felt horrible -- angry all the time, worried about my health, my husband's health, everything. I don't know if it was the pill I was on (Yaz and then Beyaz) or that my chemistry had changed because of the babies or because I'm getting older. But something wasn't working for me. Over the years, I've become more sensitive to chemicals in general, have found I am allergic to different drugs, can't tolerate aspartame or other artificial sweeteners, so something has changed overall for me, but I did not do well with BCP anymore. So now I am off all medicine, other than supplements, and I feel so much better. I have a flash temper by nature (as does everyone in my Sicilian family) but for me, I'm a lot calmer off the pills than on!

How recently? A week? A month?

You need to talk to your doctor about this. There is no reason to take a med that causes these symptoms, unless it's to save your life.

The doctor will help you find something else to do the job without these symptoms.

I was on Yaz for less than a month. It made me crazy and extremely short tempered! Plus didn't help me at all with the 6 week period I had been having. I took Seasonque Lo for a while and while it also didn't help with the extended period, I did feel normal while I was on it.

Just want to say BC pills are synthetic hormones which don't work in our body like natural hormones do. My sister got a blood clot, gained weight and had a ton of other issues come up from taking the pill. I only took the pill back in the day for a year then I had an IUD which really wasn't any better it made me bleed so bad I thought I had just given birth and the cramping was terrible. I went nuts when I went on the pill for a couple of months after my last pregnancy that was 25 years ago and never went back on and never used anything again with synthetic anything in it and I feel great and have every since. Good luck to you I hope you find something that works for you. (Before you explode LOL)

I had to go off the pill because it made me so ragey. I was on it for years in college and went off when I was in the in-between time between being on my dad's insurance and my husband's. I went on it again after my daughter was born after being off it for about 2 - 3 years. I had to switch after about 6 months because I was nauseous all the time. I switched from Ortho to Alesse, which is what I'd been on before. About a year after that I figured out it was my pill that was making me really ragey all the time and I just went off of it and went back to condoms. It is a bit more of a hassle, but I feel much better and my husband and kid don't feel like they have to walk on eggshells around me.

If it's been less than one cycle I'd see if it gets better over time. If it's been more than one cycle ... get on a different pill.

For me when I went on the pill I lost 40 lbs and felt GREAT. No pill should make you feel like you're about to explode ... and if it does it's the wrong dose or combo. Talk to your doctor.

I did this on Apia, but not when I switched to the Nuvaring. It has much lower hormones because it is nearer to where they need to go. My doc said that women who don't have pms normally can get it when they go on the pill, isn't that funny? It certainly gave it to me, but the ring is fine, and I've been on it off and on for about 6 years...off for my 2 kiddos. Call the doc and try something else.

I had to go on a low-dose Ortho for a while - I remember literally sitting in an elevator weeping because it made me crazy. The low dose really made a difference.

After I had my daughter, I went on the mini-pill - which was absolutely wonderful. My body apparently doesn't need more estrogen.

Now I'm not on anything (hub had a vasectomy). But I still weep at everything. My body apparently doesn't need additional estrogen.

hmm i was on 3 kinds and all made M. moody and made my arthritis unbearable. My arthritis dr told M. GET OFF them! my friend is a paramedic and he is insanely against them. he said he's had calls of women stroking out and blod clots from the pill.
I was on Alesse, Yaz, and then ortho tricyclen Yaz and I was always very moody on them
