I need to get my son, who is mildly Autistic, to a dentist. He is having issues with losing his teeth. He DOES NOT want them to come out and he could care less about the Tooth Fairy. Anyway, his permanent teeth are coming in and there is defintely not enough room in his mouth. Bad tooth enamel, crooked teeth, etc., runs in the family. I am looking for a dentist who is close to home, like the Arnold to Sunset Hills areas. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. I don't want to wait until it is too late. Thank you. Thanks to all that responded to my email. I made an appointment with Sunset Hills Pediatric Dentistry. I will let you know what happens after his first appointment.
I don't know about the "special needs" capabilities of this office- but my son goes to South County Pediatric Dentistry (Dr. Fernandez) and "enjoys" it - if that is the right term. He's had issues with genetic tooth enamel problems resulting in caps he's had for several years. Never complains about going to the dentist. They are at Watson and 270. Good Luck!
Ditto on the Pediatric Dentists of Sunset Hills. They are great. My son is actually excited to go to the dentist because of them. It is am big practice (5 dentists) that is really geared around kids. If you are interested in going there you might want to call soon because there is usually a couple month wait for new patients.
We go to The Pediatric Destistry of Sunset Hills http://www.dentistforkids.net/ and love it. We see Dr. Hollander, but any of the dentists should be great. We've received a lot of good advice on various things that have come up!
You can't go wrong with Pediatric Dentists of Sunset Hills. I and my brothers went there when we were kids. AND they STILL see my older brother who is 45 now that has Cerebral Palsy and is severely retarded. They are very good people from top to bottom.

I, too, have a special needs kiddo -- with mild autism. I take him to Dr. Leon at Arnold Dental Arts right off of Richardson Road. If you want to call them, just explain your situation to the receptionist, and I know they can help you. He's been great with my son, and my little guy did NOT want to go to the dentist. Hope his helps!
Dr. Kurt Aarons near the Plaza is very good with special needs children.
