K- this is my 4th pregnancy so I thought I had figured out all the aches and pains there were. I had heard that sometimes women do have gum issues while pregnant but anyways. My front bottom gums are a bit swollen and they itch and kind of hurt. It's been two days of this and I have noticed a bit more blood when I brush my teeth. Any ideas of what is going on or how to make them feel better? I do have a dr appointment in the morning but was wanting to know something now!
My dr wasn't too concerned and told me to give it a few days and use warm salt water to rinse. As of today no more pain :) I am up to date on seeing the dentist so for now I will just see how things progress thanks!

You have great answers so far! While waiting to see a professional, make sure you are flossing daily and brushing with a SOFT toothbrush. If you are not sure whether yours is categorized as soft, I would buy a new one.
This is actually totallly normal, but a real pain.
Pregnancy, for some reason, makes the little capillaries in the mouth very sensitive and close to the surface.
Brush as gently as possible and rinse/gargle with warm salt water afterwards.
I'm glad you're going to the dentist. I found that this was one of those things that went away after I had my babies. It's just one of those funky things that can happen sometimes.
Rinsing with warm salt water should feel pretty soothing and get you through.

Gums become extra sensitive during pregnancy so you need to make sure that you floss every single day. You may be having gingivitis so going to your dentist is a good idea.
Boy, does that bring back memories. My gums bled like crazy with my first pregnancy. I kept dreaming that my teeth were going to fall out. I was on complete bedrest and worried about going to the dentist, but my ob/gyn told me to go ahead and go. I had someone drive me and I laid in the chair and let him clean my teeth. That helped. Perhaps being pregnant caused extra gingervitis, I don't know.
I do remember that the dentist told me that all that extra blood flow played a part.
So, go to the dentist. That will help and you'll know for sure whether or not you have an infection. (If you have an infection, you MUST get that handled...)

This is normal for pregnancy. It was a blood bath when the dentist would clean my teeth at this stage of pregnancy. The thing that helped me was that Sonicare toothbrush. Expensive but works wonders for the gums.
Pregnancy-related gingivitis--I had it with my 3rd baby. Make sure that your doctor knows that you are pregnant, so that they don't do any x-rays.
Pregnancy can deplete you calcium levels. Go see the dentist.
