My daughter is turning 3 the end of the month(leap year baby) and i need some suggestions for activities. She wanted a cinderella theme but there will be some boys there to, so i wanted some things for everyone to enjoy. My sons party was easy-being in the summer we just had a pool party and that was all we needed. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hey I am going to have a cinderella perty for my 4 year old in a couple of months. I think that at this age the boys adapt very easily to whatever is going on. Even if they are a little older they understand that the party is for a little girl...last year I had Dora! If you get any good ideas for activities though could you pass them along. Good luck and have a blast!!!

HI, I AM ALSO A LEAP YEAR BABY! I AM TURNING 23 THIS YEAR AND I HAVE ALWAYS CELEBRATED IT ON THE FIRST OF MARCH, AND THEN WHEN MY REAL BIRTHDAY WAS ACTUALLY HERE, I GOT TO HAVE A HUGE PARTY ON THE 29TH. I HAVE A FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND A FOUR MONTH OLD SON. MY DAUGHTER LOVES CINDERELLA TOO, YOU COULD TRY TO LET HER HAVE HER PARTY THE WAY SHE WANTS, THEY HAVE PRINCE STUFF FOR CINDERELLA TOO FOR THE BOYS, OR YOU CAN JUST BUY GENDER NUETRAL STUFF AND LET HER HAVE A CINDERELLA CAKE AND HER OWN CINDERELLA PLATE AND HAT. SHE WILL FEEL SPECIAL BECAUSE ONLY THE BIRTHDAY PRINCESS GETS THE PRINCESS STUFF. ALSO WHEN MY DAUGHTER TURNED THREE WE HAD HER PARTY AT THE CAROUSEL IN HOLYOKE MA. IT IS REALLY CHEAP, AND THEY LOVE IT.IT IS INDOORS AND WELL HEATED SHE IS A DECEMBER BABY! OK GOOD LUCK!

If you go with the cinderella theme just make the boys prince's. My son went to a princess party (2year old Bday) and the princess invited him as a prince to her royal celebration. You can get party hats for the girls that look like tiaras and for the boys that look like crowns. I think they would have a blast, it can work!

Maybe you could stretch into a princess and princes theme. That might fit the boys in

I had a cinderella party when my daughter turned 3 too! I made a doll cake (with cinderella doll in the middle),made chocolate molded shoes for the goody bags, we played "pin the lips on the frog" (I drew the lips and frog), you can give out tiaras and crowns for the boys. drape the tables in very long table cloths,if you have and adult with a very small or very large foot, you can have a shoe fitting (have all adults take off shoes and put them in a pile, have each kid take a shoe and try to pick one adult and see if it fits - the winner can get something like a toy ring or something.. ), have lots of play jewelry in the goody bags. they even sell cinderella fruit snacks you can put in there.. if you want more, email me, I want to be a party planner when I grow up, so if I think of more I can let you know!!! ____@____.com! good luck!!!

If there is only going to be a few boys there then go with the Cinderella theme party. They boys won't mind being princes. I'm not too sure what to do for activities . . . this year for my boy's party we are taking them bowling making bowling t-shirts and having whoppie pies. Think outside the box.
Good luck.

my daughters 4th bday last summer we did Pirates of Carribean. i did it so the girls were pirate princesses. it was a hit, i got so many compliments from everyone that attended. i had grown up things like rum soaked fruit salad and special tropical drinks. i even made kids versions of the fruit salad and drinks as well. for favors i did a pirate treasure box with all kinds of necklaces gold coins etc.. i have to say it was fun for all the kids and it was gender neutral. good luck on whatever you choose.

hi S.,
those are great ideas for your daughter 3rd birthday party and can i add if you are going to do cake and ice cream an easier way to scoop ice cream is get some cup cake holders and scoop some ice cream into each of them before party and that way you have instant scooped ice cream and hope her party is a blast. just a thought. it saves a little time.

Hi S.,
You could always do a Disney themed party. You could give the boys some pirate patches like Pirates of the Carribean or maybe things from the movie Cars. There could be games related to disney movies. There are tons of Disney Movies to choose from. Good luck, besides kids are pretty easy if there is cake and room to play they'll be happy!!!

The boys could be Prince Charming.

Hi S.!
Why not do a make-believe theme? The boys can get into it as well, especially at such a young age. Your daughter can be Cinderella still, but the boys will have a wider option: a prince, pinoccio, wizard, Winnie the Pooh, Shrek, etc. You can mix up the toys (if you're doing goodie bags). Little wands or fuzzy pencils for the girls, plastic bugs for the boys, a box of crayons for everyone (the Dollar Store is great for this stuff: you can get a 6 pack of bouncy balls, a bag of bugs, 4 8-count boxes of crayons and 10 goodie bags. If your kids are anything like mine, the stuff will get played with once before it's left behind and you throw it away.)

Anyway, have fun and happy birthday to your little girl! Oh, and speaking from experience (although, you probably know already) I wouldn't have a party for more than 2 hours, especially where you can't send them outside to play~all my kids have winter birthdays~ugh. Even the 2 hours feels like 6. Have fun!
