Hi,
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, almost paid off so I dont want to trade it in.
Does anyone else have this type of car and could get 3 car seats (2 convertible seats) and an infant carrier) in the back??

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hello. We have the same 2005 Jeep, and we don't have 3 in the back, we have 2 (1 infant, 1 convertible) and I am still able to comfortably sit in the back middle when the kids are fussy. I'm really not thin either, a little heavier than average since I just had my baby. So, I would think as long as the convertible car seats aren't too wide, it should work. A little crowded, but should be fine. Good luck!

check out www.car-seat.org Lots of CPST's there to give you advice, and there are tons of 3-across threads, w/ pics, that'll give you ideas.... if you just post your question there you'll get lots of answers.
Radian's are nice & narrow seats, and they are one of the few convertibles that fit newborns well, so you could just do 3 of those most likely. Most infant seats will be wider, but you might be able to fit one in w/ two Radians. Also, the newer Radians rearface to 45 lbs, and can use latch (in veh man. 2005 & later) up to the full weight limit of the seat (65 or 80 lbs, depending on the model you get) so you never have to struggle w/ installing w/ a seatbelt. If you have latch in all 3 spots...

My best friend has this car and she has a booster, a toddler seat, and an infant seat in it. Its a little crowded, but it works!

We have a nissan pathfinder (a small SUV) and I fit two forward-facing toddler carseats and 1 infant carrier back there. Now that everyone has grown up a little bit I fit two forward-facing 5-point harness carseats and one booster seat. I really applaud your decision to keep the almost paid-off car instead of getting another car payment, so I hope it works out for you. If nothing else, it will be cheaper to buy new smaller carseats than to buy a new bigger car :)

We have 3 squeezed in the back of our Rav4 thanks to the sunshine kids seats- check them out online- they are the skinniest seats available that I am aware of (17inches wide). They are VERY VERY safe- but are a bit expensive. Good luck!

We only have one baby so far but are planning on three so I've done some research on this. Its definitely doable but you may need to invest in some super trim convertibles. My research found that the Radian 65 is the best for fitting three across the seat- its about 4" narrower than most convertibles. $400 for two of those beats $25k for a minivan any day :)

Good luck!!!!!

Well, we don't have a Jeep but I can tell you that we have 3 carseats in the back of a Prism! A bit of a squeeze but we still manage it.
