We recently reached out to the Mamapedia community in response to all the discussions we were seeing on our message boards about health, vitamins, supplements—and specifically fish oil. Mamapedia mamas have been chatting about the many diverse ways they use fish oil—during pregnancy and post-partum, for cardio health, depression, and even for good skin.

But it seemed that for every mother convinced about fish oil’s benefits, we read posts from others who had questions. It’s natural for something with so much buzz to generate questions and interest.

So instead of just standing in the sidelines, we enlisted the help of the experts at New Chapter to get to the bottom of your fish oil queries. Hundreds of you submitted questions! We clearly tapped into something here.

We’re excited to share your answers today. You asked about taking fish oil supplements and prenatal vitamins, how to assess the quality of different fish oil products, and whether there are any traces of chemicals in fish oil pills—to name just a few of your inquiries.

Although the New Chapter team wasn’t able to answer every last question, subject-matter experts from different areas of the company did weigh in on the most popular ones.
