Has anyone bought a wooden playhouse and put it together yourself? I'm thinking of getting something like this for my girls, 6 and 4.

I'm wondering whether it was doable to put it together ourselves, whether the quality is good, etc. Any alternative to this is also helpful. My daughter wants a 'real pretend house'. Which means she wants a play house to look like it's real, with actual working doors, windows, etc. And we're thinking we want something she'll use as her own private space when she's older.

There's a local company here that does playhouses...I haven't talked to anybody who's bought one...I just know they exist...but you can check it out! I think they're pretty amazing looking :)

I don't know, but I looked at the picture and ITS ADORABLE!!
It's doable but takes forever. Also it depends how handy you and your SO are. My ex was a construction worker so he had all the right tools and it still took a few weeks.

From the description given, it sounds like it wouldn't be too onerous to assemble as long as you or whoever is helping you is familiar with the basics - hammers, screwdrivers, etc. My husband and I have installed our own tool shed and built a swing set for our kids and neither project was too difficult.
One thing that will be key for your project is making sure the spot where you install the little house is level and firm. Also, consider using screws instead of nails wherever possible. Our swingset came with nails but we used screws of the same length that were coated for outdoor use. It made a much sturdier product which outlasted our kids.
