My Sweet Two Year Old Girl Needs Some Friends Her Own Age! Any Takers?

Hello,

Perhaps this is lame, but my two year old needs friends. She is such a social butterfly which is one of the reasons why I decided to create a daycare in my home so that she could have constant interaction with little people like herself. For the last 4 months, however, all of the kids that I have cared for are all under one year old. I feel like although she loves the babies in my daycare that she is not getting the social interaction that is appropriate for her age and necessary for her development.

Another issue is that I have trouble meeting moms that I can relate to. Most of my peers are working on theses and busy travelling and finding true loves, while I have ventured out early into this motherhood thing. I am finding that because I have trouble finding mom-peers that my daughter's social life is suffering.

Any advice? Do you know of any great playgroups in Princeton (cheap or free)?

Thanks for your help!

Hey My son Ryan is right up her alley!!!! He is so excited to meet new friends!!!! Maybe she needs a class!!! I just signed my guy up for a kindermusic class in Allentown NJ. I did daycare in my home for a while and that did not work out!!! It just hindered my care for my own children!!!
Let me know if you are interested in this music class!!!
I would love to have our children meet even for playdates!!!!

Hi O.. I live in Flemington, NJ and belong to the MOMS club here. Princeton should have one and it's relatively inexpensive. We also have a "meetup" group with moms from central new jersey. There's a $10 / year organization fee, the website is http://sahm.meetup.com/2249/

Good luck

Hi O.,

Congratulations on your graduation! That must have been a lot of work with a little girl to take care of in addition to your studies.

I'm new to the Princeton area and also looking for playmates for my child - my son Nolan, who's 2 1/2.

Although I'm older than you (33), I'm also a first-time mom looking for friends/adults to have coffee with, have a playdate, whatever. I stay home full time with my son, and sometimes I just need someone to talk to about something besides cars, diggers, diapers and snacks, which is what my son's conversation is pretty much limited to.

I have been thinking about investigating the Princeton MOMS club, but haven't done so yet. If you're interested in checking it out together, or meeting to see if our kids might like to play together, let me know!
