Moms Who Have or Haven't Tried Alli

I have done a thorough research on this drug but, I only know of one person who has ever used it. It is working for her but I would like to know if there are other people who have tried it. Did it work for you or not?
I lost a baby last year and started school instead of going back to work and now between depression and no work I have gained some weight. Being already a heavy person I am heavier now then I ever thought I would be. I am on a 2000 calorie diet and try to walk my tred mill as much as I can but can't seem to shake the weight. I'll take all ideas but am highly considering th Alli diet. Thanks ahead of time for your support.

What can I do next?

My sister has used it and says it works, but stay close to the bathroom. I have bought it and have used it but forget to take it, so I would not be a good person to judge on losing wieght with it. But we I have taken it, I kept to their food guidelines, % of fat in meals, (I kept my old weightwatcher guidelines in mind) and did not have a problem with needing the bathroom. I suspect my sister still ate high fat content foods and that is why she had a different reaction.

Hi H.,

I always been overweight, and had my second child 5 months ago. I found a website called, Sparkpeople.com; because I'm still bfeeding I was directed to the babyfit.com. Both websites are great, they are totally free and based on your info, they will give you how much calories, carbs, fat you should be eating to be able to loose weight. You can keep a food journal, track your goals, and they have the message boards..so far I lost 4.5lbs, 1 lb a week. I just love both sites and I highly recommend them. I struggle with my weight my whole life, and I think I finally found a "diet", and the motivation I need there. Check it out. Hopefully you will like it.
Good Luck!

2000 calories sounds like a lot of calories. In order to lose a pound of fat you need to cut out 3500 calories a week (or burn those a day) for example if you are 190 pounds and 5' 5" and your sedentary (or doing minimal exercise) then you need 2048 calories a day to MAINTAIN your weight. You need to consume 3500 less than that a WEEK (not a day) in order to lose a pound of weight a week. That's 500 calories a day. So if you are the person above then you need to exercise 500 calories a day. This same person burns about 98 calories a mile. That means you would need to walk (at a speed of 2.5mph) for 5 miles or so to burn those calories. OR you can cut back your calories by 300 a day and then walk two miles! So find out how many calories you need a day to maintain and then try to cut out or burn 500 a day to drop a pound a week.

Hope this helps. I know how hard it is to lose weight. I am struggling too but calories in calories out work. IF it doesn't work then you might have other problems (hormone or thyroid imbalances). If I do this it works. If I don't it doesn't simple and FREE!! No pills to pay for and no emergency trips to the potty. LOL!!

Best wishes,
M.

I would love to know whether anyone had success as well.

I have not tried Alli but heard it works with healthy diet and exercise.

I too, have had problems with my weight. I have found that Weight Watchers has been the best way to lose the weight and keep it off. They have a wonderful support system and its very healthy. My mother joined Weight Watchers 8 years ago and has kept it off ever since.

Hi H.,

I do not personally know anyone who's tried Alli; however, I haven't heard other people speak highly of it on account of bathroom issues and such.

I do have a suggestion that I can share more information with you about, and, from what I hear, it's much more cost effective than most any other 'diet' (including Alli.)
It's completely nutritionally-based, safe, healthy, and simple -- best of all, people are having great results and keeping the weight off.
It's called "Slimplicity". It's not sold through stores or ads because it also comes with personalized support and help, but I'd be happy to share more about it with you.

I want to add that I feel for you and depression issues, been there. What we eat can affect our hormones that then can cause or exacerbate depression -- this might address some of these issues as well.

I wish you the best with whatever works for you!

H., I have not tried Alli. I have been using Herbalife. This is an all natural health and wellness program. I am a 38 year old mother of two daughters 10 and 8.In 13weeks I have lost 12 pounds and an inch and a half of my hips. I have never felt better. My energy level is off the charts. They also have weight loss coaches to help you along the way. H. if you are serious about losing weight contact me

H.,

Honestly i've tryed alli and it seems to make you more "regular" if ya know what i mean as far as going to the bathroom, but i never saw the pounds come off, but also i wasn't on a strict diet or exercise plan so that may be why!
As far as your depression and losing weight, i went through a similar thing with not having the baby and still gained weight as if i were pregnant! Eventually it came off and i'm sure yours will too and god will bless you with a little one soon!

I have not tried Alli, but we did just get a Wii and got the Wii Fit package with it, and I just love it! It includes yoga exercises, strength training, aerobics, and games too! my husband was dead set against using the Wii Fit program, but he tried it last night and was on it for 2 hours, playing the skiing games (he is overweight and has high blood pressure, and I have always encouraged him to eat healthy and exercise, but he has to be the one to decide to do this for himself) - our kids love it too - it is a great way to get the whole family to enjoy exercise! You can put together an interactive weight loss plan with it as well. Anyway - I wish you the best - feel free to contact me with any questions :)
