Looking for an Online Baby Book Website

I used to maintain a website of our son, but no one really visited it so I was tired of paying the $15/month for the domain name and site hosting. I had a journal of Jacob's 1st 2 years of life and it was easier for me to go online and update rather than write it all out in a book.

ANYWAY, I'd like to find a site that offers that...anyone on any GOOD sites that are as well-run and friendly as Mamasource. I tried CafeMom.com and I just found it wasn't my style (it's an offshoot of MySpace).

Actually, it'd be cool if Mamasource offered that, wouldn't it?

Just looking for any ideas.

Thanks.

T.

EDITED TO ADD: I would like it to be online so that my Dad and Grandparents can visit it...they are in AZ. The website I had for my son before was my own domain and I registered it and all that. Before I took it down last month, I printed it all out on a color laser printer and put it with his other keep sakes.

What can I do next?

Here are my comments:
1. www.name2host.com, it's about $35/year (domain & hosting incl), or was, and that's it. you can upload your stuff with an ftp software, if you know how to do it yourself.
2. lulu.com for self publishing your own book of all your photos. I haven't tried it yet, but it has great reviews and is listed as a top self publishing website
3. Google.com, you can have up to 1gb+ of photos on there. Not sure about journal stuff, but you can post comments under each photo.
4.On the parenting section at ivillage.com there is a photo journal you can make. I tried it a long time ago, and it didn't seem all that great. But maybe it is better now.

Others: I like Flickr and the kodak gallery, your family can post comments if they want. Or check out the journal sites, like blogger, livejournal(prev. mentioned)

Of course if you use apple, you can use iphoto to export a web page of whatever pictures you choose.

I like Shutterfly. I have all my pictures on their website, it's free and you can set up a custom web address like "smithfamily.shutterfly.com".
I have relatives in Europe and it's great, people can view them anytime they want... It's easy to use and it's FREE...

Here's a recent launch that's a really great way to share baby photos and milestones with friends and you can link it to facebook too.

I've signed up! Worth checking out at the very least!

I think I'm a little bit late, but I was wondering the same thing when I was pregnant and I found http://pikeno.com. It's a private baby book that allows you to invite family members to follow it. You can decide which entries your guests can see and which only you and your partner have access to.

I don't want to share everything on Facebook, you never know... I've been good at keeping Pikeno updated and my in-laws (who live in South America) check it regularly.

Interesting concept! I know what you mean about it being easier to update a website instead of a book, although I'm curious as to how will this be permanent thing - are you able to print it out and save a physical copy your journal, or is it just digital?
If it's a journal, couldn't you just set up a Word document and keep an ongoing journal there? Or is it more important to get it on a website where anyone can read it? thanks!

Go to babiesonline.com you can have a free webpage for your baby, with backgrounds, journal entries, photos, etc. It's really neat and all free. :)

Hope this helps.

That really is a great idea. I'll have to check the babiesonline site.

I have a livejournal page as a sort of online kids journal. It's a "friends only" site because it's really just for me and them more than a public blog. It's free.

I've heard that there are services that will turn your blog entries into a printed book, but I haven't researched that.
