If you have any previous professional writing experience, you should check out www.freelancewriting.com or your local Craigslist.com for writing gigs.

If writing doesn't interest you and meeting new people does, you may want to consider checking out the many home-based businesses that are out there like Avon, Creative Memories, Mary Kay, etc. There are TONS of moms on Mamasource who do this kind of work successfully.

Finally, if you're up to it, you may want to consider doing home daycare for a couple of kids. Taking care of other people's kids is not for everyone, but I can tell you it's a lucrative business and you'll always have a demand for it. If you're interested, you should research the requirements for opening up a home daycare in the state of Florida as well as whatever county you're in.

I really wish I had some sound advice for you. I want to stay home with my son (who just 1yr in Oct). I have been looking for a true work from home situation. I kept running into scams, and almost gave up.

In August, I decided to watch children from my home. So I went to all the classes and got my certification and license to run a Licensed Family Child Care from my home. Now I am advertising to start this up so I can stay home with him. Since I have done this I have had a real estate agent contact me, she wants me to help with computer stuff on the weekends (when I will not have kids). So that may be an idea, offer services to real estate agents or mortgage companies. This happened to be a friend who approached me and I never thought of approching her.

I know exactly how you feel. I am in the same predictament you are. I went with a company that does medical transcription and i am still in the training program. i have coughed up $600 and still not making any money. I see the same ads you do and no luck. If you find anything and wouldn't mind sharing i would appreciate it. I will do the same for you.
