Hi ladies. My good friend recently found out she's 14 weeks Preggo w/twins. Her daughter will be 2 end of July. She is thinking of squeezing 3 kids/ car seats into 2nd row of SUV.
Any experience GOOD OR BAD with cars seat row?
Trouble getting in or out?

What can I do next?

Diono radian car seats will fit three across most cars pretty easily. They aren't cheap, but can go from newborn-80 lbs harnessed and 120lbs as a booster. I love mine.

You do what you gotta do.
I'd put the oldest in the middle and the babies on either side.

Depends on what kind of car and what kind of car seats.

It will depend on the car and what the toddler sits in. Whe nI had my triplets, we used Graco car seats. It was easier to put them in and out since we used the base. I think it would have been a big pain if we had not. For my other 2, never used the base. We had a Nissan Maxima when we had our trips and the seats fit fine. We could have fit 3 toddler seats tightly but we ended up getting a van. But back then, toddler seats were not huge.

Yes, the Diono seats fit 3 across. But it depends on the SUV.
The 2-year-old can rear-face to age 3 or 4 or more in that seat pretty easily. They are great! That way also all 3 kids are rear-facing, since a forward-facing tot with 3 in a row can get ugly with not being gentle or bothering siblings, etc.

Of course her first step is to see if 3 carseats will physically fit. If they do then in my opinion, yes it will be a pain, but like so much in life you get used to it and make it work. We squeeze 3 carseats into the extended cab backseat of a pick-up truck (oh, how we'd love a minivan!) I enjoy looking back and seeing my 3 cuties all lined up back there despite the aggravation of getting them back there sometimes.

My Girlfriend did the older one in the middle and the twins on the end. The older on was 18 months older than the twins. She had a car and suv.

She needs to take her car to the store and see what fits and how accessible.

I know that my older one, messes with my younger one, so keeping them separate is better.

The Diono Radian carseat is designed to allow 3 seats across. They used to be Sunshine Kids Radian. I have been using them for 7 years with 4 kids. My sister now uses them too with her 2 kids. They are awesome seats. They can be used from 5 lbs up to 100 lbs. Rear facing, forward facing, and a booster. I would highly recommend them if she is trying to fit 3 seats across. I would highly recommend them, even if she wasn't.

I was recently in a car accident and had to replace one of mine. I purchased my new Diono Radian 100 on Wayfair.com. I got it in 2 days with free shipping and no tax.
