We are considering a vacation to one of the Beaches resorts. Just wondering if anyone else has been and what your experience was? How old were your kids when you took them? Did you use their onsite babysitting? If so, were you comfortable leaving your kids with them? Any insight appreciated. tia.

Hi, we just went to the Beaches Turks & Caicos resort in May with our four-year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. Beaches has a partnership with Sesame Street so periodically the characters walk around the resort. They have cookies in the lobby areas and they have Camp Sesame for the kids of all ages. They group them up. There are tons of activities for the kids and the workers there are certified nannies. I will tell you that it is a great place to go if you have kids because they really cater to the kids so if you wanted to drop them off at Camp Sesame while you went on a snorkeling trip, you can. You can stop by and check out their calendar of activities for the kids. They also have a street parade they put on which is so much fun and depending on age of your kids, I highly recommend doing the character breakfast where you can meet all the characters at once and have take photos. They also offer a service (extra cost - about $85) where you can have one of the characters tuck your child in at night. They do stretches and then read them a story and tuck them in. They also have several stage shows, too, which are fun. I will tell you that the characters do not talk. I don't know if it's because they may have accents or the kids may engage them in long conversations, but during the stage shows, they do lip synch to the show so it looks like they are talking.

The pools there especially at the Italian Village (where we stayed) is so perfect for kids. They also have a waterpark area complete with waterslides and lazy river. They also have a toddler area and spray area.
Good luck and have fun!!

Sorry, late post, but we went to Beaches Turks and Caicos as well. We are already saving to go back again. It was the best vacation we have ever had. Our kids were 12 and 10, so we didn't need the babysitting services, but I would definetly use them if we did need them.

The staff at this resort is amazing. So friendly and gracious, it's like they REALLY want to be there and they really want to make you happy! I would trust them with my kids.

The Turks and Caicos location has a water park with slides for kids of all ages, a swim-up "bar" for kids where they can have smoothies and snacks, the Camp Sesame looked awesome and there are soooooo many pools to choose from. We never had to search for a chair.

The restaurants were excellent. Something for everyone and they had shows to entertain you in the evening. Even the X-Box garage had games set up for kids of all ages.

Loved, loved, loved it there. FYI, if you do go to T&C, you will need a passport, so you may want to plan for that. The best way to book this vacation is directly with Beaches on their website. If you have any questions, you can call them and they are super friendly and helpful.

Can you tell I really liked this vacation??!! :) Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. Have fun planning!

Check with cheapcaribbean.com They may have a good deal on that for you.

Bring sunblock and a sun hat if you are sensitive to the sun. Its much cheaper to buy it here than there.

Hope you have a wonderful time.

WE went to BEaches Negril when our daughter turned one. It was AMAZING! We did not use the sitting services but we didn't really need to! The staff was so attentive and accomodating! They made sure that we had crates of milk in our room fridge for her and the maid even took our bottles to the kitchen daily to be washed and sanitized. On her first birthday, they had a cake brought to the table at every meal with a sesame street character! And since you are never leaving the resort, mom and dad can indulge a little and have a good time too! I recommend renting a cabana on the beach, worth every penny!

We camped on the beach in our RV with all 5 of my kids recently. We also stayed on the beach at a condo when I just had 4. We went to the beach every day and had a great time. We don't ever use any of the babysitting stuff... ages were 1,2,4,5 and up.... (went two different times when our kids were all different ages.) HTH
