Hi, I am looking for a good gymnastic team program in the Flower Mound, Tx area. I have a young girl who is really passionate about the sport and wanting to compete. She is almost 6 and has been doing tumbling for awhile and is really good on the floor, but she is now wanting to do bars and beam and she is needing a good program in that area. Any input would be greatly appreciated. We will drive some distance, but not too far.

What can I do next?

Win Kids has a good gymnastic program and classes for all ages. It is located off of Hwy 2499 near the new Flower Mound Target store. My daughter has taken classes there and was recently on a gymnastic team for the last year. She really enjoyed the team and coaches.

Check out Excite Gymnastics & Cheer (www.excitegym.com). They have a locatoin in Parker Square and then in Highland Village but they have some really wonderful caring coaches. Your daughter would do well to start there I think! S. C., Flower Mound

I would also recommend WinKids or Excite.

We just went to an event at WinKids this week and the staff was amazing. The owner is very active in the program and is very approachable. Their facility was incredible, and there's plenty of viewing areas for the parents.

This week, there's also an event at Excite this Friday night (not a gymnasics event, but you could take a peek at their facility while you're there... Get a feel for the staff, etc. Details can be found on our website Calendar (see below).

Kim's USA is also located on 3040 near Edmonds, but I don't really know anything about them.

Good luck!

My daughter also takes classes at Everybody Fits. She has enjoyed all of the coaches she has had and also likes to "watch the big girls practice" that are on the competitive teams.

I'm sure with the options you've gotten, you'll be able to find one that's the right fit for your family. :o)

Both my daughters compete thru Excite Gym and Cheer in Highland Village. We have been there for 3 years and are very happy there. The coaches are great. One daughter is int he TOPS program, and competiting in USAG level 4 and my other daughter is USAG level 5. They both started in the Super Stars and Hot Shots programs and moved their way up.

Yes, Everybody Fits (Texas Dreams), in Coppel is run by Kim Zymeskal.

It depends on what kind of time and commitment you want to give. I know at everybody fits the TOPS program they pay approx. $1000/month and are homeschooled at the gym. So they practice about 6+ hours per day. Personally, that is nto what I want for my girls. I want them to be able to go to school and check out other activites. My level 4 is in the gym 10 hours a week (she is about to turn 7) and my level 5 is there 14 hours a week (she is 8).

If your daughter hasn't competed before, depending on her ability, she will probably start in the Hot Shots program, which is 4 hours a week.

I realize I have rambled, but I am up to my ears in gymnastics ;-) Please feel free to email me with any other questions.

Check out their website www.excitegymandcheer.com

Try Everybody Fits in Coppell. It's great! The only reason we left is cause we spent the $$ on my husband's MBA instead (He graduated last night!!!!). They've got great schedules and coaches.

Enjoy!
