Fun Things to Do with Children in Dayton

I am wanting to plan a playdate with my friends and their children when I come into town. What fun activities are there to do both indoor and outdoors in Kettering/Dayton area? The childrens ages range from about 12 months to 5 years old.

What can I do next?

Thank you to everyone who responded. We ended up taking the kids to the Boonshoft Museum and they had a BLAST!

indoor- boonshoft museum of discovery. the children are all at a great age to really enjoy it.
outdoor- the metroparks all have wonderful things to offer. possum creek farm is open everyday and has a playground and farm animals. cox arboretum has nice hiking trails and ponds with big fish and turtles. those are the 2 we frequent, but check out the others too!

Dayton Mall has a fun event for both moms & kids. It's called Momtopia Monday. Their next event is scheduled for Monday, October 10, 10:00am.

They're featuring a performance by Joanie Whittaker who will sing songs from her "Potty Party" CD. The kids have a little area in front of the stage where they all get together and dance.

At the event they also have a fashion show, mom makeovers, character appearances, and games & activities for the kids.

If you want to find out more details you can just go the the website at DaytonMall.com/Momtopia

It's a great event!

yellow springs is a great place to walk around and window shop. Young's Jersey Dairy is a fun place to stop at. They have farm animals and ice cream and you can golf too.

There is also the Air Force Museum. My boys also love the hiking trail at The Narrows off of Indian Ripple. Have fun!!
