DFW Airport - Problems Finding Shuttle Service with Car Seats for Babies/kids!

Hello everyone!

I asked some questions last night about shuttles to the airport and if you need to use carseats for children...We found out that it is state law - even in a van, taxi, etc.

So now we have a little 'situation' - we are hoping someone can offer some advice!

We will have 7 people needing to get to the airport, from our house. 4 adults and 3 children (ages 5, 2 and 11 months). We don't want to take carseats to Disney world with us because I dont wnat to bring them on the Disney buses to and from airport - just too much to carry/worry about on top of strollers and everything else.

We have called and called some more, to local shuttle services but NONE of them can provide carseats - I saw on a different post that some shuttle services in different states will provide carseats...but apparently NOT Tx!! Grrr...

So now we dont know what to do. I would think it would be too expensive to park at the airport?? has anyone parked there for a week??

Any ideas on what we can do???

Thanks SO much!

Ps...my parents are going on the trip for us. They are driving down from KS the night before - then flying out with us the next morning...we are new to the area so we dont have friends or any family here to 'give us a ride'! Yikes!

What can I do next?

Do Park and Fly. For one car it will be about $65 for the week. Your kids are fine on the shuttle from there to the airport. Take your bags upstairs to the check counter at DFW. Since you are going on a Disney bus, they will take care of your bags in FL.

Have you arranged for car seats on the other end? As I remember it Disney World is in Kissimmee on the other side of Orlando from the airport. You'll have more than 1/2 hour (probably closer to an hour in heavy traffic) to get from the airport to the park. If I had to make a choice between stroller and car seat then I'd rent the stroller at Disney and bring the car seat. However, I've travelled carrying both stroller and car seat, and even though it is a pain it is doable, especially with 4 adults.

With the number of people you have it would be much less expensive to use one of the remote parking lots than to use a shuttle service anyways. FastTrack is what we use:

You can prepay and or get coupons online so that it's less than $10 per day. I always do the prepay as that also reserves a parking slot. Sometimes they fill up mid-week.

We park at DFW all the time and fly. There are several options. We prefer the covered parking right at the terminal and we use those spots. I don't remember but I think we pay around $16 a day. My husband is flying in and out of DFW and Love field weekly and we use the closest parking which is more expensive.

NOW, that said, there are some cheaper options on parking. The Parking Spot is not on the DFW premises but you park there (reasonalbly priced) and they shuttle you to the terminal. Park and Fly is very similar.

If you prefer no to have any shuttle....park on the outlying lots at DFW which are cheaper. You just park there and then catch the DFW shuttle to the terminal.

You can check the DFW parking options on their website as well. We've parked our car there for a week and it was all good but we paid $100 or so to do it. We especially like the limo service (Allen limo) because they pick us up at our home, take us directly to the correct terminal, then on the way home, they are right outside waiting on us.

This is especially helpful for a ride home because you are usually tired from travel, etc. We landed one morning at 5am from Hawaii and the last thing we wanted to do was get in DFW traffic. The limo is great for that service and not overly expensive.

Enjoy your trip!!! It will all work out and you will have a magical time!! We've done Disney about 7 times. We don't use the Disney shuttles either...we prefer private taxi.
