My son is in a small in home daycare. There is the owner who is there most of the time and another lady who is the "helper". I am not sure what to get them for a holiday gift. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I am a home daycare provider, and normally 1 weeks pay is what I get.
I do have a family who can not afford that so she gave me a gift from the bath & body works. I would stay away from the zoo thig, only my opinion, but we had rec'vd that from my neighbor and it went to waste. The store gift cards and gas gift cards are always good. Or where she gets her hair done or a salon where she can get a little "her" time.

I have been in family daycare for over 20 years and I have loved all the gifts. I have recieved many different gifts. Some of my favorites were the ones that were thoughtful. Like the gift card to McDonalds so I could get my morning diet coke or the 4 cupcake pans since I was always baking for my daughters school. I have received anywhere from $25.00 to $400.00. I am sure anything you do will be wonderful.

Depending on what you can afford give anything from cash (one weeks typical pay is common) for a X-Mas bonus down to a tin of homemade cookies with a note from your child saying thankyou if money is tight. Also, something like a giftcard to the grocery store she shops at or gas station she visits can be really helpful during the holidays. If she has children of her own or takes your kid places something really nice would be a year membership to somewhere like the Brookfield Zoo ($100 for a whole year family membership plus lots of extras), or the local pool or museum. (Science and Industry is great if you are in the city, lots of stuff for preschool through school-age kids). For the helper I would do maybe a small giftcard or treat and a nice thankyou note. Whatever you decide, I am sure your provider will appreciate the thought. I am a small home daycare provider and I always appreciate any gift including just a nice card I can save. A referral or nice letter of reference to have on hand is the best gift you can give her and doesn't cost anything!

I like to give things they can use in the daycare and my provider always seemed to like it. I would do a gift bag of things like hand sanitizer, baggies, disinfecting wipes, snack cups, animal paperplates, crayons, construction paper, etc. you get the idea.
