You can google how many oz of formula he should have a day. I believe its still like 25-30 oz a day. Good luck I know it sucks.

It definitely sounds like he's hungry.
At that age, my son ate every 3 hours.
He had mostly formula then added the baby food.
Did his ped say it was ok to start giving him the baby food already?
If so, I'd definitely supplement w/more formula bottles.
He's probably anxious abt going to bed knowing he's hungry.
When my baby was that age, he got up every 3 hours for formula bottles then I supplemented w/baby food. Later he got baby rice or oatmeal mixed w/formula then those baby food packets.
He's possibly freaking out because he isn't getting more food when he cries.
I know you're tired (sorry I was too forever) but when he wakes up @ 1am and 4am try giving him his bottle of formula.
His stomach is still small and he sounds hungry.
I know it's not what you were hoping to hear but I promise this stage will pass soon.
Give him more food (formula) when he wakes up & he will sleep better.
You will worry less & get more rest.
Then you can rest during the day when he rests (best advice I ever got).
Hang in there honey! This will end sooner than you think. Best wishes.

Edit: one more thing....my husband (sitting next to me) reminded me to tell you about a dream feed: I read this in a book & a friend told me to try it. You pick up your baby before putting him to bed (change him in his sleep ever so gently & feed him a bottle of formula in his sleep......this should be about 3 hrs from his last feeding of course. Like I said, you feed him in his sleep hence the name "dream feed". We'd go to bed at 11pm so I would do this about 10:45 & it was amazing. It was the last feed & it would buy us some extra time to sleep & him too.

Your baby NEEDS more formula - a little bit in a cup with solids and then one 5oz bottle is way less than he should be having. At this point, solids offer no nutrition (or little at best) - all his nutrition should be coming from his formula. He should be consuming at least a 5oz bottle every three hours.
Stop the solids for a few days and get back on a bottle feeding "schedule" - offer a bottle every few hours and see how much he takes. Mark it down and find out how much he is consuming to make sure he is eating enough for his size per baby feeding charts - check with your pediatrician on how much they suggest he eat (formula, not solids). Then you can add in solids a couple times a day, but only after he has had a bottle. He really only needs a few tablespoons of food throught the whole day, that isn't even a whole jar!
More formula = Full tummy = better sleep habits = happier mommy :)

Do you feed him formula when he wakes up at 1? If not, that's why he's not sleeping. He needs to eat again.

How much formula do you give him during the day? He should be drinking 24-32 oz. Formula is his primary source of nutrition. The solids is just for practice.

Water should not substitute for formula. It's generally suggested to not give babies under a year water. It fills the tummy without giving any nutrients.

Sometimes babies get too tired to sleep. Sounds like the case here. 9 pm is way too late for bedtime. Try moving it back a couple of hours. It sounds like to me that that he is overtired, which causes night wakings. My 15 mo old goes to bed at 7 pm sharp and sleeps 12 or 13 hours a night- she has been doing this since she was 6 mos. My son was the same way. If they get too tired or stay up too late before bedtime, they just wake more. We even do that as adults! It will take a few nights to adjust, but you will thank me later. :)
Also, give him his bottle right before putting him down to sleep. That was part of our bedtime routine until my baby stopped drinking bottles.
Hope this helps!

Hello, It doesn't sound like he is getting a lot of formula. He may be hungry. I would give him more formula during the day.
Good luck with your precious little baby.

Your post sounds as if he is not getting much formula throughout the day. He should still be getting around 24 oz of formula as his main source of nutrition. Solids are actually less important at that age.
Make sure he is getting at least two daytime naps. You may want to try an earlier bedtime unless there is a reason you picked 9pm. My 13 month old is in bed by 7 and sleeps until about 6:30.
I have also learned that my son is an extremely noisy sleeper. He is just recently sleeping all night but periodically we will hear a cry, scream or some other vocalization. You could try giving it a few minutes and see if he re-settles before you go in.
Is he teething? Maybe motrin or a homeopathic remedy like hyland's would help.
Good luck!

it sounds like he has you well trained you hold him, rock him etc. babies need to learn how to self soothe let him cry for a while and you can retain him. remember a habit takes about two weeks to change. it took my son 3 days and he stopped waking up all the time
