Where to dispose of broken electronics that is enviromentally friendly?

We have a 62" HDTV, 19" TV, 19" computer monitor, standing fan, etc. that are all broken. Instead of just disposing of them with our weekly trash, is there a place we can take them so that they can be disposed of properly?

The City of Fort Worth dump will take them and donate them to Goodwill. The electronics don't have to be working. There is a Goodwill trailer there that you put your things in.

Best Buy takes TVs that are 32" and smaller.
You should ask them about monitors, too.

Intechra in Carrollton accepts larger TVs and other small electronics.

Have you called your city's waste management servce? We took our computer moniter to a place in Dallas. I can't remember the name, but I'm sure you could find it on the internet.

Check with your city, the website or call. The usually have a day once a month that you can drip off hazardous materials like paint and stuff.

Check with your city. I know Ft. Worth takes them but you generally have to be a resident or your city has to have an agreement with Ft. Worth for them to take them.

Just googled "recycling computers" and found a great program at www.crc.org >> You gotta check out their website. They even take semi-usuable stuff and make it available to teachers and foster families!! How cool is that?! Too bad, they are in CALIFORNIA! Bummer. I remember reading a few years back about a man in Keller, Texas who takes in computers, keyboards, monitors, and reworks them, and donates them to families in the Keller School District who cannot afford to buy their own family computer. Does anyone know this guy??

best buy has a recycling program for any electronics. any electronic with a screen they require $10.00 but then turn around and give you a $10.00 gift card, which at this time of year is a great stocking stuffer. Check out thier web site it will give you some more perticulars.
