stupid question... but as i read through peoples questions and answers i see a lot of acronyms and i can usually figure them out... but what is the D in DH? (im guessing the H is for husband?)
DH is darling Husband
I thought the D was Dear. I just always figured that it was for DH, DS and DD. Darling is cuter though! lol!
yes yes.. 'Dear Husband' if he is in your good graces and 'Damn Him' if he is not!!! LOL
OMG Ha, ha, ha! ROFL! LOL!
LOVE Karen N's response!
Thanks for the laugh... I needed it!
all the best,
Susan
(FYI: OMG means "oh my gawd!", ROFL means "rolling on floor laughing."
FYI means 'for your information.'
LOL means "laugh out loud." )
:)
Dear Husband, some people say darn but I think that's ignorant.
I have trouble "getting" some of these, too. I thought the D was dearest. You know - like Mommy Dearest! LOL
I'd like a list of acronyms that are used. I'm out of the loop when it comes to these things!
Thanks for asking, I have been wondering the same myself. I came up with designated( go figure, I was wrong). Thanks all you ladies for the answers for me as well.
Debbie
I had actually thought about posting this question too... I could surmise that it probably meant "dear," but never really knew for sure... Good question!
Generally...it stands for "Dear Husband"... but so many other great adjectives start with D.....
I used to have a cat named D. C. My dad named him after the cat climbed up his (shorts clad) leg one morning. I always maintained that the "d" stood for "Dear" and "Darling". My dad had another adjective in mind, however.....
And just to add, DD is dear daughter, DS dear son etc. :)
I thought Darling on a good day, Dumb on a not so good day. LOL!
designated hitter! hahaha
I am glad you asked that!
All these acronyms and typing like we are always texting drives me nuts sometimes! Don't assume everyone knows your little acronyms and texting abbreviations....I wish people would type it out.
Thanks to the poster who put the lingo link up, too!
Thanks for your post!
ha ha thanks! i was thinking something along those lines… i had dear as my best guess.
