Dr. William Growden is fantastic. His office number is(310)453-1982. He is affliated with UCLA, and his office is on 16th Street across from UCLA Santa Monica. I know he has priveleges there and at St. John's.
If you want to see a woman doctor there is one that shares his office (I can't remember her name, but I hear she is also very good). Their practices are independent, but they are in the same location and his number will get you to her receptionist.
Dr. George Mason is a brilliant doctor. He delivers at Santa Monica Hospital. He's very old school so don't be alarmed, he's in his late 60's early 70's but he did a wonderful job. He very updated and has a email address and is willing to answer any and all questions for you via email. I had a great experience with him. Oh yeah and his delivery style is very different, you give birth laying on your side. Now to your question...
Have you considered the midwives at UCLA? I have been under their care during this (my second) pregnancy and they are wonderful!! Your appointments would be at the Rhonda Fleming Woman's Center in the 200 Medical Building on campus. It's a very nice office and they don't make you wait for appointments. Everything is available to you there including UCLA Dr.'s if need be. And you'll get to give birth in the new Ronald Reagan Hospital which is to open at the end of June. The midwives are very supportive, extremely knowledgeable and give excellent and respectful care throughout your pregnancy. I highly recommend checking them out. I recommend Dr Scharffenburger. He is in Torrance, but he is the best. He did residency at UCLA (I think). He delievers at LOTs of hospitals. He is awesome. He is in high demand in the south bay.
