Dear Veronica,
I read your posting. I run a preschool/daycare in Glendale, about a 10-15 minute drive from Forest Hills. We are located within walking distace of the M Train (Fresh Pond Road Station). I am a former public school teacher who achieved national board certification. Our program is designed for 2-4 year olds, we have 2 assistant teachers, and we incorporate themes and developmentally appropriate activities for a child to grow cognitively, linguistically, socially and emotionally. My niece goes to the Pickwick school in Briarwood and she loves it. (http://pickwickschool.com/Home.html)
My sister-in-law is very picky because she is teacher at a school for autistic kids, so she knows what to look for. She pulled her daughter out of 2 other schools in Kew Gardens and she has now been at Pickwick for almost a year. I also live around the corner from the Montessori school on Austin Street, but I don't know much about it. Also, the Church in the Gardens on Ascan Ave has a preschool.

There is a church on 112th Street and 71 Ave, that has day care and preschool. There is also a day care on 110th street maybe 69th rd. You can also try the Y on 108 Street
