I had not planned to purchase a Nintendo DSI system for my 5yo son for awhile, but he is a lucky little guy and won one through a drawing for selling items for his school fundraiser.
Looking for any recommendations for a few games for his age. Thanks!
the mario brothers are all favorites of boys this age - they're goofy, make silly noises and they're not violtent. My son had a number of DS games over the years- but always went back to the mario brothers.
Just as a heads up, all DS system games will work in a DSi controller. There are no games marked specifically for DSi. The accessories however are version specific.
There are lots of fun games. - Bookworm, Lego Star Wars, Mario Cart, Guitar Hero, etc.
look on walmart online, they sell used games & have deals on games that are not offered in the store, there are many games for that age...also i don't know if you have a big lots there but they have games that are usually on sale for about $10 each
When my son was 5, MarioKart was the easiest game for him to use, it gave him the best success and helped him to learn to use the controls. Now that he is 6, his favorites are Spongebob Truth or Squared, New Super Mario Bros, and Phineas and Ferb.
A great website to check out is http://www.commonsensemedia.org/. They rate and review all types of media for age-appropriateness and other issues. I use it almost every week!
