I have two boys and we are ttc #3...hoping for a GIRL...but would love just #3! Anyone know any wives tales, or anything we can try...not embarrassed, so positions, personal stories welcome! ANything welcomed..it doesnt hurt to try silly things or hope for a girl...hehehe. Most of all just prayer needed to concieve third child...hasn't happened yet, but I believe it will soon!

Im 25 and have 2 boys also ages 3 and 1,,,I just got pregnant (6weeks) and I am hoping for a girl as well!! Well, let me rephrase I am dying to have a girl. lol There is too much testosteron in this house. I have found that the chinese gender calendar is pretty accurate. So do a search on yahoo,,there are several to choose from, and what its asks is the age of mother during conception and the month of conception. unfortunately mine says Im having another boy :-( But as long as the baby is healthy I guess thats what really matters. We will just have to try again,,,and plan it next time. This one was an accident. Good luck!!!!!!! Let me know how it turns out.
I have two older brothers, and my mom was exactly like you~desperately wanted a girl. She got a book from the library about how to concieve the gender child you want. I can't remember the name of it~it's pretty old by now, but I'm sure there are a ton of books out there in your local public library on the topic. The one my mother used included things like position,temp., time of month, etc. It worked, here I am! I used ovulation tests to help me time the conception of my current pregnancy (#2)-you can get them anywhere, Walmart,HEB,Walgreens. Good luck!
Check out www.tcoyf.com it is a fertility website. They also have a book out with software. I used it to concieve #2 and timed it correctly for a girl. I took my basal temp every morning at the same time and charted my temps to know when I was ovulating and most fertile. It is amazing to learn about your body and to get it know it so well. I knew exactly when I concieved and I even knew that I was pregnant very early as well. Also I think there is a site called storks nest that has a bunch on there about how to concieve a certain sex. It's all in the timing!

I've used this and it's been correct every time! I tested the chart and plugged in Everyone in my extended Family, including my Grandmother!! And yes, it predicted the gender of all of our children correctly. Hmmmm. Conincidence? I don't think so. Try it with your sons and maybe you can chart for your Girl!

Some people swear by the Shettles method to gender selection...
I used to want a girl (had 2 boys), but then I had a miscarriage and realized that I just wanted another bay and did not care what we had. But I did read the book "How to choose the sex of your baby" by shettles. According to the method, we had sex at the appropriate times to have boys all three times (I got pg again and had another boy, for 3 boys total).
I don't think there is anything wrong with trying for a girl, just be prepared for a boy and try not to be disappointed. If you don't want a boy at all, don't try for more kids, imo.
it is said that Y bearing sperm (those that make boys) swim faster b/c they have less DNA. the X chromosome (required from dad to make a baby girl) is much larger and so swims slower. the theory is that you should have sex about 2 days before you ovulate. the x sperm will be nearer to the egg, the y sperm will have probably forgotten it by then, or be dead, and you may have some girl power luck.

I recommend using the Shettles method as other moms have also said. Also, you may want to start charting your temperature and your cycle...you can go to fertilityfriend.com and register for a membership. This web site helps you determine when you approximately will ovulate. This in combination with the Shettles method should increase your chances...
But keep in mind (as I am sure you already do): the most important thing is that you stay healthy, relax and that you and your baby will have a healthy and relaxed pregnancy and that you and your baby are going to be healthy. Good luck!
I was in the same boat. I had three boys, and we wanted a girl. Well, I was told that the boy sperm die faster than the girl sperm. So basically, and this is kinda graphic I'm not sure how to put this well, we were very conscience of the depth of ejaculation. We made sure that that we didn't have deep ejaculation. Well, it worked, and I have my girl. A lovely little blonde hair, blue-eyed angel. I hope this helps and that it doesn't offend!
When my husband and I got pregnent for the first time we knew nothing about methods we just had lots of sex!:) We ended up with a girl and here is why I was told we did. Immediately after finishing me period we had sex every day for two weeks. The very first month we tried we got pregnant. 9 months later Moriah was here. We stopped using birthcontrol around July of 06 and I was expecting to get pregnant right away agin, but about three months went by and nothing. I then remembered how we waited til the day after I ended my period and then had sex every day for two weeks,(I would also lift up my legs in the air against the head board and tilt up my pelvis for several minutes before I would go to the bathromm, which I hadn't been doing either)And once I did that, I was pregnant that first two weeks trial. We havent found out if its a girl or boy yet but I think it will be a girl again because we did everything the same way. The reason that this method suposedly produces girls is because the frequency of having sex decreases the male sperm count. Also male sperm swim faster and if there is an egg ready to fertilize they are the first to get there and get the egg. However, if there isn't an egg to fertilze they die off very fast. Female sperm on the other hand swim slower but if they get there and there is no egg they can servive a few days waiting for the egg and will fertilize even days after the actaul intercourse that sent them out. It worked for us (and hopefully it worked this time also we will find out in about a month)Maybe you can try it and is nothing else you just loose one month of trying!:)
SO today I finally tested postitive (HPT) & I will keep you all posted on if it turns out to be a girl or boy…I did the girl diet, supplements, techniques, everything!!! so we’ll see…thank you so much for your replies…
