We need to get our basement waterproofed before we can do any work towards finishing it (ultimately our goal is to finish it and get licensed for daycare in it).
Anyway, I would love some information about what technique you do or don't recommend, also, what company you do or don't recommend.
We had our basement waterproofed, the company came in looked all around the outside of our house to make sure the gutters were all in the correct positions then went to the basement to discover our drains around the outside walls had caved in.
We used a local company that we had used before on his parents house. Our basement is now finished and not wet anymore, sub pump works just fine. They chiseled all around the walls about one foot, cleaned all the old drain out,put in black half pipe with holes in it,filled it with small pea gravel then re-concreted over it. After three days we were able to have carpet put down.There was very little mess.Hope this helps you.
