Need help getting sidewalk chalk out of clothes

I buy my boys one nice pair of khaki pants every year. They only wear them to church and nice events. Well, last Sunday my son played with sidewalk chalk in Sunday School and got the blue all over the legs. I have washed them 2 times, 2 different ways, and still can't seem to get the chalk out. I still haven't dried them, hoping there's still hope for them. Anybody got any ideas?

have u tried oxyclean? soak them for a while - that may work :) club soda also gets lots of things out as a pretreater

good luck!

Try spraying grease lightning on it and washing again... I haven't found anything that it doesn't take out and my dd gets into all kinds of things. It took out sharpie marks on her jeans

Try ZOUT .. you get it in the grocery store, it comes in a red spray bottle in the laundry section. That stuff works miracles (spaghetti sauce out of white shirts without a trace leftover).

I use oxyclean. It got red cherry icy out of my Khaki capris last year. I love the stuff!

Hello kids just seem to always get something on them or on furnitur and carpet they we have a hard time getting clean. I have found that Pre-Spot and Sol-u-mel has worked the best and gets stains out so well. I just love it. I will add it to my wash if there are heavy stains and they are gone....hope this helps

rubbing alcohol, goo gone, WD-40

Good old fashioned elbow grease outta do it. Take an old toothbrush and some laundry detergent and water and scrub, girl SCRUB!! Good luck!!

Simple Green cleaner works great if you put it on right before putting them in the laundry. Note that if you like that cleaner be careful what you use it on in the future though- it's so strong it eats through sweaters.

A friend of mine also said not to pretreat at all for sidewalk chalk. She said use cold water and do not pretreat...however, if you have already washed them try Dawn. I have found that it gets out almost everything usually the first time. Sometimes though once you have washed them it is a little harder. Just put a dab of dawn on the spots, rub together, and let them soak in cold water for a couple of hours. Then wash it...see if that works! Good Luck!

Soilove.

2 options: 1. spray them with shout max and let sit for 2 days or 2. pour clorox 2 on them and let sit for 2 days then wash. This gets almost anything out!

I would try Clorox2. One of my sons left a blue crayon in their pocket and it melted over all of the clothes in the dryer. I put them back in the wash with just water and Clorox2. After the first spin cycle, let them soak for 30-45 minutes. On the really bad spots, I used a toothbrush dipped in the Clorox2 and rubbed in it real well. The crayon came out of everything.

Oxyclean has gotten out ALL of the stains in my clothes. From grease to markers to blood, etc. I put a scoop in each load of my laundry and no stains!

Good luck!

Have you tried "Zout" stain remover??? Another mom on here recommended it to me & there hasn't been a stain that it hasn't gotten out of my 17-month-old clothes... and she's one messy girl! I also switched to All Small & Mighty detergent (from Tide) and that may also have aided in stain removal. Hope it helps :)

Oxi sometimes works, but the one thing I found to work EVERY time is Shaklee Basic H and Shaklee Nature Bright. I combine them and then let the stain soak (if it is an old stain...fresh stains I toss in the wash with Nature Bright only). I have even gotten grease stains and ink stains out after they had been in the dryer (that is usually when you notice a stain...once it is dry and the heat has set it). :-) Shaklee can only be ordered online...but it is well worth it b/c it last a VERY long time...one bottle of Basic H lasted me an entire year. Good luck with the stains.

The prewash I use seems to get ANYTHING out. I've even bought consignment clothes with stains in them, brought them home, treated them and they look like new. You can only order it online and I would be glad to show you how to get it if you are interested.

I don't know if you used this yet, but I've found that Zout gets out a lot of stains--even red wine! It might work.

I've had good luck with Oxy Clean. You may want to pre soak it in very hot water with the Oxy Clean and then scrub a little. Good luck

Have you tried Awesome? I know that it works great on grass stains not sure about chaulk. It only costs a $1 at the Dollar Tree. It is also great as a general cleaner so it wouldn't be a waste to try it. I hope it works.
