Ok…Im new here…my husband and I just moved here from Terre Haute, Indiana. He is from here but I know nothing about the area or the doctors. I am 27 weeks pregnant and I currently see the doctors at Southwest OB in Tinley Park. I have been very unpleased with one of the doctors. Ive only had one appointment there and the woman I had…wow…it was one of the worst experiences with a doctor. I have another appointment at the Oak Lawn office next Saturday and am hoping this appointment will be better. Either way…unless things change. I would like to find a better doctor for my next pregnancy and I was looking for some suggestions.
Also at my last appointment, we asked about pediatricians and the doc recommended Dr Wafaa Hanna. She is on the first floor of the building. We went down to set up a consultation time and she took the time out right there to talk to us and OMG I absolutely loved her! She was so nice and so honest with us and very friendly and after a full days work with babies she continually had a smile on her face. I was wondering if anyone else has had her for a pediatrician or if you know of anyone who has and your experiences with her.
We have Dr Hanna and we love her!!! Even my mother in law loved her when she met her for the first time after the birth of our second daughter. She use to have an office in Oak Lawn as well, but closed that office and is now only in Tinley. It’s a long drive for us but we like her so much I wouldn’t think about changing. (I had a different Ped when my first was born but I did not like one of the drs in the practice and she was always the one that I ended up with). I would highly recommend her…she takes her time and checks the kids. I don’t mind the wait because I know my kids aren’t going to be rushed. My kids love going to see her and yes she is dressed to the nines every time you see her!
I had Southwest OB’s here in Oak Lawn for about 3 visits, one of which was a miscarraige. Did not like them at all & never went back after my follow up. Don’t expect anything better at the Oak Lawn office.
My OBGYN is Dr Al-Naqeeb, she is out of Palos Hospital and that is where her office is located. I really like her a lot. I had a different OB for my first daughter but was not happy with her. A couple of my sister in laws went to Naqeeb so I gave her a try. I really like her. She is not a hand holding type of dr. She is very no nonsense. She is definitely on top of things and has been an OB for over 20 years so she has seen it all. The only downside is that she has been doing this for so long that I think she forgets about those of us that have a million questions. If you have questions for her, ask and she will answer but she is not great about just telling you things.
