Looking for an MP3 player that includes games for my son

I am looking to get my to-be 7 son an MP3 player with games. I would prefer one with built-in games rather than assess to the internet, as the internet is not always good for kids this age! Can you recommend one? I’d also rather not go itouch yet, but maybe something a little cheaper for now.

Xbox live!

I don’t know of any MP3 players that have games. We got my daughter an ipod for her 7th b day, a cheap one, and it lost it’s appeal quickly because it had no games. We got her an ipod touch for her 9th b day. She loves it. You can restrict the use of the internet (turn it off.) It also only works (internet) when there is a wifi connection. You can download tons of free games as well as ones you pay for. My daughter can not download anything with out a password, which she does not know. That way I can keep track of her games. Also, general internet is not required to download games or music. You only need an itunes account. Not sure what your budget is, but I think the ipod touch was around $80-90. We got it at walmart. I guess it depends on what your main intent is…music, games, or both. Any of the game systems that also have an ipod/MP3 player built in are equal in price or more expensive than an ipod. Also, we have found with our girls, they get board very quickly with the games that come with them. They are usually not that great. We went through a Leap pad, and a Nintendo DS pretty quickly. I would recommend the Nintendo DS over the leap pad. It has better games, and more of them. The DS also comes in different versions and price ranges. Most are games you have to buy and install into the system (a cartrage.) I have also found the game systems that can also play music, it is a little harder to download the music onto them. The ipod seemed much easier. Hope that helps!
