I have 5 yr.old that has bad asthma. And my husband and I have been talking about this "Immune Deficiency Disorder". We are dont really know what it is or the symptoms. But she is constantly sick and put on steroids. This is the meds she takes everyday for her asthma: Pulmicort(twice), Foradil(twice), Singulair, Vitamin C, Nasonex and Albuterol(when needed) and Predisone (when needed). We are wondering if there is more to this than asthma. They have also diagnosed her with Sinusitis. If anyone out there knows more about this Immune Disorder, please let me know what to look for and the questions to ask her pulmonologist. She has been sick like this since she was close to 2 years old. And we're so tired and stressed because of the financial aspect of it and seeing her always sick!

My name is Robin and I have suffered all my life with allergies.My sinus,ears,and lungs stay congested.You might want to look into an allergy specialist,your daughter might be allergic to something that you and your husband might not be thinking about.It could be something as simple as a food allergy.I am allergic to numerous things such as Pine trees and golden rod.I also am allergic to okra.I go to my allergy doctor and they give me shots to help with my problem.I hope this helps..
Hi. Ask her doc to do a blood test for IgA deficiency. It's a primary immune system dysfunction that causes a lack of antibodies in the mucous membranes. She probably just has allergies, but it's a simple test. Read about the condition here:
sometimes children with bad asthma have acid reflux which causes them to stay sick also stay away from predisone if you can because this will cause severe weight gain in your child over a period of time . my 6 yr old was on this all the time for asthma he now weighs 82 lbs at age 6 and turns out he has food allergies as well almost everything outside and inside our home he also has acid reflux .
