Have you ever stored the baby bed in the attic?

My youngest has just transitioned to the toddler bed and we are ready to put the baby bed away. Usually, we stored it in the closet until we had the next baby. However, he is our last baby and we will no longer need the baby bed. I do not want to get rid of it and would like to save it for the future. Plus, it is my sister's and she will probably want it back when her married daughter becomes a mom. My sister does not want to store it. I was thinking about putting the bed in the attic. Has anyone done this before? Do I need to cover the bed with any sheets or anything like that? Or is it too hot in the attic? (We do live in TX) What about the mattress? Right now, it is on the toddler bed, but in the next year we will move him to a twin bed.

We have my daughter's bed stored in the attic and she is 4 yrs old. She has been in a big girl bed for two years now. W just wrapped it in towels and layed it flat to avoid warping of the wood.
