Does anyone have experience with window film?

I am looking for a referral to a local company that applies 3M window film (for sun control) on home windows. Have you had a good experience with window films on your home -- and with someone who applied it?

Thanks Mamas!

Hi! I use this for my house, it's not hard to install, takes a few minutes a window then blow dry them to shrink the plastic. They work nicely, just stick with 3M not the other brands, they don't work as well.

About 5 years ago we had window tinting applied to all of our west-facing windows to help with the afternoon/early evening sun (our due-west facing house would get so hot!) and to help protect our furniture, etc. from sun damage. It really helped with the heat and I haven't noticed any fading in our furniture, so I'm assuming it's helped in that regard as well. We used a company called Window Genie: http://www.windowgenie.com/

I believe it was around $600-700 to do four pretty large windows, our kitchen window and our sliding glass door 5 years ago. Hope that helps!
