I have my SIL coming in to town soon and we are throwing her a surprise breast cancer survior party. I am wondering if any of you have some cute ideas on how to go about this. Party supplies, food, gifts, really anything would be helpful.
Thank you,
This may sound silly but on a Lifetime movie recently about Breast Cancer they had a party and the cake was two breasts. I thought it was a really funny idea. Not sure if to racie or not for your family but it's a thought. Good luck and congrats to your SIL.
What a great SIL you are! My mom is a survivor and we had a party for her years ago. We tried to make it very uplifting and funny, (she had enough of being serious to last a life-time.) We played the song, "I will survive." We handed out goodie bags, with what everyone needs to "survive." But, to keep it uplifting we put pieces of chocolate in it, a plastic compass to always know where you are going and where you have been, a small phone book with friends and families numbers who you can call whenever you need them, and other fun things.
My mom's best friend who also was a survivor but had no family recommended putting a journal so everyone could write my mom a note of their experiences, advice, hope, etc.. To this day, that is what my mom treasures the most because it came from the heart of many of her friends and family and like she said people don't always know what to say, but when you see it in writing of those who care and love you it makes you realize how precious life is. Good Luck!
What a great time of year to find pink M&M's!!
