Best Vacuum? Which one do you have?

I am looking for a good vacuum. I have a cheap one I bought from Target a few years ago and it just doesn't work that well. I have mostly stained concrete floors but I am needing an upgrade.. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Our Shark Navigator works well for us.

I have a Kirby, which we bought reconditioned online from a reputable vendor. (Ended up being about $200 total, including shipping.) It may be more vacuum than you need, however. I swear by these, though. They are workhorses and I moved out before the Kirby we had from my infancy stopped working.

I like kenmore canister vacuums.

We have the Dyson DC25 All Floors. I LOVE it. It’s my first Dyson and I’m more thank likely a Dyson fan for life now.

Miele!
Oh, the money I wasted year after year replacing vacuums. The only thing better is a central vac.

I also have a Dyson, had it for 2 years now and absolutely love it!!!

I have an Oreck Excel. I spent just under $1000 and it is a fantastic machine! LOVE it.

I also have 2 Hoovers that are over 14 yrs old that still work. They are heavy though. I keep a vac on each level of the house and with the Oreck, I don’t have to do that because it is so lightweight and functional.

My mom has a Dyson and she said it is a good machine but she hates it because it is so heavy.

We have a Dyson, I like it.

I have a Dyson (not sure which model). we got a good deal on a reconditioned one so it was about $200 cheaper than brand new. It cleans well but my only complaints are: it’s heavy, the front part of it is big so it doesn’t squeeze under short tables and cabinet corners well (something to think about when choosing) and the hose is stiff and the way the attachments work is awkward. But I got used to the way it worked. Dumping the canister is nice because there is no filter that gets clogged up. My old vacuum was a Hoover windtunnel canister and I liked it (my Dyson is much better) but things on it broke easily and the filter clogged up with dust and I had to take it outside and beat it clean because when it clogged up, the suction wasn’t good. Go on Amazon and read reviews on some models you like, not that you have to buy from there but, it’s good to see what people like and don’t like about the vacuums.

Another fan of the Dyson here. We just got the canister one, and I loooove it!

We have had our Dyson Animal for almost 7 years now, and I LOVE it!

I have a Dyson on my first floor I like because of the hose but it is very heavy. I have an Oreck upstairs that I really like (very long cord, lies flat for going under beds and very light weight so I can use it on my hardwood stairs easily.)

We have a Kirby and love it. It was not cheap but it has lasted for over 10 years with no issues.

I am finally free from the Dyson that I had!!! I got a Shark Navigator and I love it! My house is FINALLY clean!

Dyson sucks…really good! We are Dyson fans. Pretty pricey but it has lasted us quite a few years…and keeps on sucking

I thought about buying a Dyson a couple of years ago when I was shopping for a vacuum and a lot of people said they wore out the floor too fast. I was already battling that problem, so I wasn’t keen on adding to it.

I ended up buying a Hoover Windtunnel Petmate from Costco for $125 and it has been the best vacuum I have had! I love it. It has a canister so you don’t have to mess with bags, and it has washable filters, but my favorite feature is the automatic cordwinder. You push a lever with your foot and the whole cord winds up on its own. I love that!! I can pick it up with one hand and it does and goes almost everywhere, especially with the on board tools.

I love my Dyson Animal. I have 2 cats and a dog that sheds terribly and it gets up all the animal hair from everything. One afternoon my old vacuum broke 3/4 of the way through cleaning my living room. I had been eyeing the dyson for some time, so I went ahead and got it that day. I came home and vacuumed the whole living area and it filled up the canister - that’s how much better it worked than my Hoover Wind tunnel vacuum. There are no bags or filters to replace EVER! Since I bought mine, www.qvc.com has started carrying Dyson and you can pay it out monthly with no extra charges.

We like Electrolux - I ‘inherited’ some from older family members years ago (as stuff was being split up) and they lasted until no more parts could be found. Sons just went together and got me a used ‘newer’ one for Christmas!

I am in love with my Dyson (yellow) and will never buy anything else. I’ve had it a couple of years and it honestly has not lost suction. You could get a good deal sometimes on Walmart site and sometimes I’ve seen them as low as $300 on ebay. I think it is well worth it instead of spending $100 every couple of years to replace a cheapy one.
