What do you think is going to happen tonight (election results)?

I don’t think we will know tonight. I think it will be the end of the week or longer. I didn’t vote today I went Friday night and stood in line for about an hour. And the line was huge at 6 when the locked the doors. They brought everyone in I would say probably close to 100 still behind me when they did that.

Voting was CRAZY here in Virginia!!! I don’t know numbers yet, but we had massive voter turnout (at least at my polling place). I lucked out and only waited about 50 minutes. Several of my friends who went later in the day waited 2 hours!

Cheryl - I just heard of the “Redskins Rule” this weekend. I love the Skins, but I was rooting against them on Sunday

Speaking of voter fraud (someone below did) - a friend of a friend posted on FB today that she went to the polls and apparently someone had already voted in her name! And there’s nothing she can do about it. I guess you don’t need to show picture ID, a bill in your name or something like that is all it takes. WTH??

I really wonder as well! I think that it will go to Pres. Obama, but then again Romeny has a stronger chance than I would have predicted just a few months ago. It will certainly be interesting to watch!

I think we will still have a country no matter which way it goes.

I think EVERYONE needs to climb all over their elected Senators and Reps and say that we absolutely cannot go through another election with long lines, confusion about the need for voter ID, and intimidation, especially in urban and minority areas.

And we need to educate our population about civics, how the government works, and why their vote matters.

No more Election Day controversies in the 21st century. I’m hearing moderate Republicans and Democrats who have been part of election monitoring in other countries, and they’ve never seen lines and confusion like this. It’s ridiculously unfair.

Can’t we all agree on that, no matter how we voted?

No clue and it is making me feel nauseous.

What I hope happens is that we have a clear and decisive election.

I hope that whichever party does not win is gracious and works with the president.

I hope that whichever party does win ask itself what they need to change to not be so contested and to get along with the other party and not alienate everyone who does not pass their “litmus test.”

I hope that America will be less divided and that we can enter an age of political discourse in which we don’t have to raise voices or make accusations…where the legislature can vote across party lines.

I am watching the results on TV now, and I am not sure exactly what to think. I am a Romney Fan, and right now he is in the lead, so I’m happy about that…but I am not sure what will happen later. I’m just hoping it will all turn out alright!! I am pregnant with twins that are due next month. I am sitting here thinking, when they are born, then we will all know who the persident for the next 4 years is! It is making me nervous just thinking about it, lol. Best of luck to all the canidates!!

A note to Katie about her friend who couldn’t vote because it appeared that someone used her name to vote already:

It could be a mistake by the person who has the list. If he or she checked the wrong name, then that’s how it went in.

I’d tell your friend to go back to the polling station and ask for a provisional ballot. That’s at least a try. Perhaps they’ll figure it out.

Sorry for your friend!

I hope it will be decisive tonight. I agree with other posters about doing something about the long lines, confusion etc. for future elections. For us in Calif. (San Diego) it was an easy process and took about 10 minutes. It may be close tonight but I hope for an Obama win.

Woohoo! Yea!!! SO happy! OBAMA!!! Feel like a 10 ton weight has lifted off my chest!
AND we now have marriage equality in 10 states!!!
Pot is now legal in 2 states and all the rape apologists are GONE!

Wonderful Tuesday!

IMHO it could break for Romney . . . though it certainly wouldn’t surprise me to see our POTUS be re-elected either. In fact almost any outcome could occur and it wouldn’t surprise me!

I had a first time voter today - my oldest son! Wow do I feel old!
