Sharing stories of worst dates ever

Well. I went to a Catholic girls’ boarding school in high school. Obviously this meant that my dating life was somewhat, um, dull. Maybe “nonexistent” would be a better term. Anyway, it came time for prom my senior year, and a day student friend set me up on a blind date with a friend of her boyfriend’s. The boys came to pick us up, and as I was walking down the stairs to meet this guy, he said (loudly), “THAT’s my date? I’m not going anywhere with her, she’s beastly!” I wanted to die. I turned right back around and cried in my room all night!

Now, lest you think that I am actually beastly, I was an NFL cheerleader after college, so objectively, I’m not beastly. I am tall, and maybe that’s what freaked this guy out. Who knows. Anyway, once I got over the initial shock of it, it became very funny to me and kind of a running joke amongst my friends. To this day, my friends from high school will say, “Well, I don’t know if I want to go anywhere with you, because you’re so beastly!” Hahaha

Amusing!
I was in an all girl Nursing School and the guys we had contact with were in an all male school at Rockhurst College in the late 60’s.
My girlfriend dated a guy with no car, he had a “friend” with a Volkswagon Beetle (back in the day when it was rare for anyone in college to have a car, about 1968). In order for them to go out ,the guy with a car needed a date so they fixed him up with me, so we could “double”. He was a shrimp named Toby (yes I remember his last name to this day over 40 years later), probably was about 5’4" maybe 120 pounds, black hair, black rimmed glasses, OMG, I was 5’6" and 135. I remember he said he was in a band and played the Tuba, which was probably was bigger than he was. We went to a movie, “Romeo and Juliet”…we had nothing in common, and we did not hit it off, he was all city, I was a farm gal, I couldn’t wait for the date to be over. He walked me to the door of the Dormitory and begged, yes, begged for a kiss. I refused, explained no kiss on first date, he kept asking why, so finally, he asked if I would shake hands.
