Desperate! Grease stains on clothes....

I'm also an avid ZOUT (regular bottle, not spray) user, first used it on my dh's Navy whites, you would not believe the grunge it got out those collars.
Then I had a tshirt that I had gotten melted butter on, had washed and dried it a few times before using the Zout. Now you can't even tell there were any stains there.
It helps to apply the Zout and let it sit a bit before washing. I have yet to find a stain it doesn't work on.

I've had great luck with Shout! Even AFTER I've washed and dried the clothes. I try to wear my apron but sometimes I forget and I get a lot of oil/grease stains on my tops and I used to have to toss them and I would get so frustrated! I've had AMAZING luck with Shout. Spray it on, rub it in and let it sit. I usually repeat this like once or twice and then wash it! Good luck!

Hi Christie,
All you need is Dawn. Even if you've washed and dried them just put Dawn liquid dishwashing soap, wash in cold water and the stain will go away! Good Luck! I know how badly it feels to stain nice clothes!

Liquid dish soap works like magic! It doesn't matter that you've already washed the shirt...it will still work!

Hi Christie,
Shout Stain Stick has worked for me even after going through the dryer but I always use Tide detergent. Also, my Mom swears by a using a bar of Ivory Soap - when my daughter was little I pretreated everything with it and it worked well. But, I have a shirt I wear when I work at my Church's Neighborhood Meals programs (feeding the homless and hungry) that has stains that I can never get off. The shirts have the volunteer's name on it so our clients can connect with us so we wear them - stained or not!
Hope this helps and Please keep praying as the Lord will provide!
Love,
Patti b

Grease stains are really a pain. I don't get many because I don't cook much, my kids are grown and gone. I am a Shaklee distributor and if you live near or in Fresno, I'd be happy to give you a sample of the Basic H2. I'm not positive that it will get it out, but I'm pretty sure that it will. What do you have to lose, it's a free sample? You can send me a message or go to my Mama Perks ad on Shaklee and get my contact info.

Good luck, Bridget

Dawn dish washing liquid works great. I use the original one and put it on my stains. If the stain is old or is quite big, I leave it on for a while. Scrub at the stain before washing and wash your laundry the way you normally do. I have even left the liquid on overnight and nothing has happened to my clothes. You may have to do this more than once if the stain is bad enough, but it will work.

You can try Dawn dish soap.... I had pretty good luck getting the grease stains off my husbands clothes. Let the soap soak in and then add a little water and rub together to a lather. Rinse and repeat and then try to wash them in the washer.

Hope it works! Good luck!

What has worked for me...even after washing once since I don't usually notice the spots until I am folding them...is a Dollar Store product called Awesome. It is in a slightly opaque spray bottle with orange writing all over it. Spray some on the stain just prior to throwing it in the washing machine. It gets most of the cooking grease stains out.

Like you, I cannot afford to buy myself new things very often, so I rely on being able to keep my clothes nice. I work very hard to get stains out of our clothes! We too are struggling so don't feel alone there. I just thank the Lord that I have never had the luxury of "extra" money because those friends of mine that had money all the time have it harder now learning how to make ends meet on a tight budget. Bless you and good luck with the grease stains!

I highly recommend a product called Soillove. You can purchase it in the grocery stores by the products that are suppost to remove stains. It is a green bottle with a spray pull up tube. Small bottle but big results

Christie,
Try Smart & Final Cleaner/Degreaser. It may not work if the stain is already set but try it. I have used it for everything. The BEST oven cleaner ever (when used full strength)...works better than 409(when diluted w/water). Used it to clean a stain on my carpet & a black urethane stain(a product my husband uses at work) off my seat in the car.Give it a try. Can be purchased at any Smart&Final. Resturants use it to clean the grills....Good Luck,LisaMarie

well right now i am trying la’s totally awsome on some clothe that have grease and oils in them and on most of the clothes it seems to be working but the towels i am rewashing after retreating with the awsome straight (undiluted) on the grease stains and this is after treating with dawn dish detergent, nail polish remover, ammonia, spray and wash and out of frustration i decided to try this thinking well if it doesn’t work all i have left to try is bleach, but the awsome seems to be working, i will see if retreating it the same way with awsome and rewashing does the job, because i like these towels and clothes and i don’t want them destroyed or permenantly stained with oils.

Thank you for all your great responses… since most people recommended dish soap, I had Palmolive Oxy Plus, I used that. ALL the stains came out, I was very impressed!! I had to do almost all my shirts and some of my sons and I used the whole bottle, I think I went a little overboard, but it worked. Thanks so much for the great advice, I am also going to try the Shout gel that was recommended for other stains and bought some Oxy to go in every load. With four kids (and three of them being boys) I need some “good” stain remover. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
