It’s happened. Somehow that little one you ushered into kindergarten what seems like just yesterday has grown up into a big kid. A person with ideas and friends and fashion attitudes all their own.

As a mom, this hardly makes your Back to School to do list any shorter. There are still clothes and backpacks and supplies to buy, and activities and schedules to sort out.

But amidst all the bustle of that, don’t forget an important way that you can help your older child succeed in school. And it doesn’t involve spending a lot of money or running around the mall like a crazy lady. In fact, it can actually be quite fun.

What is it? Helping them feel comfortable with who they are. Helping them make a mark that’s their very own. Helping them to feel—and therefore be—cool.

Seem like a tall order? Not really. These videos from Disney do a wonderful job of reminding us grown-ups about the little things older kids do at school to show off who they are. Fun, creative things, like making party invitations or making fun cellphone covers, that let their personalities shine.
So take a break from the rest of your preparations to tune into something that’s sure to be important to your child.

These brief He Made, She Made videos will jump start your imagination, and get you thinking a whole new way about the fun and creativity—and cool—behind Back to School time.
