I am trying to decide which High School to enroll my daughter in next year. Would really appreciate any feedback on either Santa Rosa High School or Maria Carillo High School. Your child's experience? What you think about the school and its teachers and administration? Academics and why or why not you would recommend either of these two schools. Also any problems that you see existing at either school.
My kids haven't attended Maria Carillo, so I can't speak for that. It has a good reputation, obviously.
However, I LOVE Santa Rosa High School, particularly for its diversity and tolerance, due probably in large part to its being an art magnet school.
Most of the teachers are wonderful, and if you really want your child to be challenged have her take honors classes. My kids' honors classes have all been excellent.
I don't know if you heard about the old principal, and I don't know anything about who is currently heading the school.
