Who has studied or is in Radiologic Technology? ( X-ray Tech- Sono gram )

I am looking to go back to school and was considering the X ray program at TCC. Can anyone who has went to school for X ray or who is currently working in this field give me any insite on what to expect, how hey like it... The dificulty of it. And how you knew this was the right field for you. Its hard to just choose what to go into I like to do so many things. I am the type of person who has to be doing something hands on and on my feet and I love to help people out but dont know the exact field i should go into. If you could give me any advice that would be highly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi,
I am an xray technologist. I have been in the field since 1996. Right now, the job market for xray techs or radiographers is at a low. There are not many jobs because there are too many schools. I love being an xray tech and if the job market was booming, I would suggest you go into this field. However, since the job market is so over saturated with techs that I would either recommend Sono or nursing.

Hello Christine M,

I ditto the previous mom. The market is slim to none for xray tech at the moment. RN nursing is your best bet. Good luck and many blessings.

Hi! I have been an x-ray tech since 2002. I currently do MRI and CT! I enjoy doing both. I was cross trained at work to be able to do both. But if you want to be on your feet and constantly moving you need to be at a busy hopital. I work at a surgery hospital, and there are days Im really busy and days that I do nothing.

I don't know anything about the school you mentioned, but I went to MSU in Wichita Falls, and they have a great program. I do think there are more people going through the program compared to when I was in school. I love what I do and love working in the medical field. If I had to do it over again, I would do it. There are days I wish I could go back to school to be a teacher, so I can have 13 weeks off a year, but thats all. haha
Let me know if you have any questions!
