Hi, I'll have a baby shower but I don't know what kind of food do I have to give. Please help me.
Hi, usually it's your friends or relatives who hold the party for you. The food is dependent upon what time of day you hold it. If it's around lunchtime, then it's lunch food and if it's dinnertime, then dinner food. They always have a cake. Some people don't really have the money to spend feeding so many people so they will have it in the middle of the afternoon so they don't have to have a lot of food. It's such a personal thing that there's really no right or wrong way to hold one. Just do what makes you happy. Good luck!
Hello, I'm confused...are you planning a baby shower for yourself? Typically, a close friend, coworker or family member would throw YOU a shower...that's the idea, they are showering you with presents, you are the guest of honor and you don't plan a thing. Perhaps ask a relative, church friend or close friend if they could help you.
You can't go wrong with finger foods. For example: dip and chips, sandwich of your choice(tuna ham turkey roast beef), fruit and cheese tray, cake, and some type of beverage.
Usually sandwhiches, salads, and drinks work well!
Hi Margarita
Congradulations! Oh its so fun to have a baby shower. It all depends on your venue. you could have a barbaque which everyone loves to eat, or you can call Portos in Glendale, Ca or Burbank, CA they have a gret selection of sandwhiches and other stuff you can order( they deliver). You can even order your shower cake from them. Their cakes are delicious........! Hope this helped. Have a wonderful baby shower and good luck to you!

inexpensive food people can eat with their fingers, like little sandwiches, cut up fresh fruit and vegetables would be the easiest and probably best thing to do. and always have some cake or cupcakes or something sweet to eat! good luck with you baby shower and congratulations!
If you are experienced with Mexican food, then you can't go wrong there!
Hi Margarita,
I am sorry I don't speak Spanish. But I just gave a baby shower, and what I did was serve finger foods-ie pre made tacos (small ones) with guacamole; pre made quiche, and small pizzas. You will need a cake and something to drink. Make it easy on yourself, and get plastic forks and knives. Hope this helps!

Sandwich trays from albertsons are really good and you can get the chicken as well. It is not that expensive, ask a couple girls to bring 2 salads and there you have it. I just did a shower for my best friend and I actually found a restauraunt that did not charge for the room just per person for buffet was a little pricy but everyone loved it.
Well being part Mexican, my family makes a variety of different things. We aren't the richest people so we sometimes do Birria with rice beans and like a macaroni salad. It is the best and the bomb especially when you are pregnant.
Other options, ceviche, tostadas with chicken salad.
If it's your shower, you can do whatever you want - there are no wrong answers. I had two showers: one with traditional Mexican food (which is my favorite). My friend, who is Mexican, made everything. My second shower had a Caribbean theme: caribbean food, fun punches and even reggae music.
Hi, I am not Mexican but I love Mexican food! I had chile verde with tortillas, arroz con frijoles, enchiladas, pacificos and sangria. Everyone loved it :o)
buena suerte,
Shellie

Well, I attended a baby shower once and they had all finger foods. THey had small crossant sandwiches, wraps, cheese sticks, salads, and even sushi. I tought that was a pretty cool idea, Hope I have helped.
Hola Margarita. Felicitades!
Hi Margarita;
I have four children and raised because I am a stay home mom. When I have party in my house, I always prefer and cook my own food. I am from Philippines so we love to cook and eat our own dishes. In your baby shower, you prefer and cook your own mexican dishes or appetizer, salad, desserts, just make it simple and tasty and yummy. Your guests will enjoy them the home made food at home. Then you can buy your own stuff for baby shower gift aways for your guest. Go to Michael or any other mexican party supplies and buy the baby shower gift aways to give to your guests as tradition to say thank you for coming to your baby shower party. Then you can make or buy a simple baby's stuff decorations to decorate your house. I suggested you to make your own like draw or cut a colorful baby's stuff like rattle, baby ballon, spoon, cup, plates, bib, baby shoe, then hang it and tie it with ribbon, hang it to your door, window, even hang a paper crepe with pink or blue, green, yellow color and hang it inside or outside your house where you will held your party. Then put 3/4 balllon and tie it outside your house so that people know that's the baby shower's house. I hope this will help you. Use paper plates and cups, platic forks and knifes so that it will be easy to clean up.

I had a taco guy @ my baby shower, for $300, they come out with the grill, they cook 3 kinds of meat. They provide rice, beans, salsa, all the table ware. This price was for 40 people, all you can eat.
I looked around and the best quality and price is the Tapatio place on Fallbrook and Victory.
you can do just about anything you want to do. If you choose to have your shower around lunchtime, you could get already prepared trays of veggies with dip, sandwiches, fruit. Costco is a great place for that sort of thing. If you wanted to do it earlier or later you could skip the sandwiches and serve appetizers only. Lemonade, coffee, coffee cake etc. Make it easy though and if you have a hostess, have her do most of the preparation for you so you can just relax. Have fun!
mexican food is the best food on earth!!! why not serve that? i think most people love mexican food. rice, beans, enchaldas, salsas, chips, chile rellanos, taquitos, tamales, salad, caseroles...you know, things that can be made in advance.
good luck...candace
