What to do? Another PT job?

Was asked this morning if I would be interested in another part time job. Don't really have the time, but the money is calling my name (my current pay plus time and a half.) I come into work one hour early to work PT on a government grant, which will be ending in May 2010, get off around 6:00 pm from my other full time job (usually work over time.) This will be a very, very stressful job (high demands, and expeditions,) which I am use to. Beside the pay, will be able to work from home (ya right.)

Why so apprehensive? I am taking care of my mother and step father after work and weekends (both had surgeries over the summer and partially disabled (we did hire a visiting nurse to help, but mom needs more than 2 hours once a week.) My stepsister should be taking care of her father-that is a whole different blog and my brother is on vacation for awhile plus he has not spoken to us in about 10 years. With taking care of their house, dog, their rental house and apartment (with crazy tenants,) my stepdads mothers house (she is in a nursing home,) taking care of my house, kids (even though they are older,) no time left for ME!!! Lucky to get 2 hours a sleep at night. Asked the kids if they could help out more around the house, they said yes, but they both go to school and work full time.

Crazy to say yes, or just pass out?

Money is a wonderful thing, but does not always make the world go around... especially if your world is spread too thin and tight.

I would recommend you examine your situation, look at how your body and mind feels right now and then decide. If you are spread too thin now - how do you think you will feel later? If you are lacking in sleep, that would mean you could risk your immune system (let alone the stress levels and your overall well-being) if you cannot make it up later at some point if you manage to get some free time.

If it were me, I would indeed pass. Time for oneself is precious, as well as being there for your kids.

Everyone needs some down time..unless you need the money to get by, I would say not to take the job. If you need the money to make ends meet, remember to get others to help you out, you can't do everything!
