Volvo recognizing women as valuable in so many ways

I wanted to share this article that a friend brought to my attention. “Volvo Cars Recognized for Supporting Women – A Step in the Right Direction”

I’ve never purchased a Volvo, but I have to give them credit. Volvo Cars was just awarded the “Sandy Myhre Award” by Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) for its commitment to women. This award highlights car brands that focus on workplace inclusion, product design, and marketing that actually considers women’s needs.

So why did volvo get it?

More women in the workforce – Volvo has made a strong effort to promote gender equality, offering fair wages and leadership opportunities.

Safety innovations for moms – They’ve been using pregnant crash test dummies since 1995 to make sure their safety features work for expectant mothers.

Encouraging young women in STEM – In 2023, they partnered with Girls Who Code to help close the gender gap in technology.

The all-female jury behind this award recognized Volvo’s ongoing efforts to acknowledge that women aren’t just passengers—they’re decision-makers and professionals shaping the industry.

Since women seem to be taking a bit of a beating lately, It’s nice to see a company taking real action instead of just talking about inclusivity. What do you think? Have you noticed car brands making changes that actually benefit women?

Here’s the full article if you want to read more. I couldn’t figure out how to make it an active link. And no, I am not getting paid by Volvo to post this LOL.
