Does anybody have a good recommendation in the western suburbs (I'm in Oswego) for an accountant to prepare taxes? We moved here a couple of years ago from central IL, and have been mailing things back to him, but it's getting to be a little more work than I'd like because he's also a friend and put us on the back burner because he was so busy last year, even though he charged us the reg. amount. I think we paid about $215. That included having to mail the documents via Fed-Ex. My husband prefers not to go to places like H & R Block because he had a bad experience there. But maybe with some input from others, I can give him some options. Thanks for your input, moms!

A really great guy is John Pleviak in Wheaton. He is a tax attorney so really knows his stuff. He normally has been charging $200 unless he's raised his price since last year.
Looks like there are quite a few posts already, but just to add to it - we use Rissman Accounting in Elburn. It's a mother and son and they are great. We have complicated taxes - all the forms make a descent sized book when done and I don't think I've paid over $100. They are very knowledgeable and always offer suggestions for the next year. Very small shop, but worth the personal attention. We were referred to them by family and have now used them for quite a few years.
