Salvage sugarless cheesecake

My sister forgot to put sugar in the cheesecake. Is there any way to salvage it?

I doubt it. Sugar is a pretty important part of any baking. The only thing would be if it's not baked already, you could just add it in. If it's already been baked, just make a new one.

dear lori-

Maybe blend in some shredded cheese...make a couple of 'balls'...roll in nuts...put in frig...and a 'cheese ball (s) and crackers??

Good Luck

I have no idea if this will work, but the only think I can think of is to scrape the cake from the crust into a bowl and pop it in the microwave until it is soft. Add the sugar and pour it into a new crust or I make a new crust if need be. Since it has already been cooked, I think you could pop it in the oven for just a few minutes to try and get it back to it's consistency and then refrigerate. But I am not too sure it will help, but at least she will feel like she tried!!!

You could try to make parfaits. Scrape out the filling and put into the blender with a little milk and sugar. Blend it up until smooth. Then break up the crust and layer with the filling in glasses. You could also add a layer of fruit and whipped cream. Yummy!

I had to scrape my pies out of their crusts because I forgot to add the eggs. We laughed (hubby and I)...... cheescake without sugar seems like it could just be topped with some cherry pie filling and probably be just fine, or some carmel topping....

We recently had chocolate ice cream that the chef forgot to put the sugar in. It wasn't half bad. Not sweet, but very refreshing. I rather liked it.

Definitely add a sweet fruit topping or chocolate sauce or caramel sauce of your choice. And then tell everyone it was planned that way. You learned it here on mamapedia about tips to cut back on sugar.

My husband did the same thing with a pumpkin pie. For your cheesecake the fruit toping sounds good. We are going to try drizzling honey over ours. It doesn't taste bad really, just like something is missing but at first you don't know what.

If it already baked, and came out well, just put a syrup on it, or honey, or a fruit topping. You may find it's tasty without it!

I'm not sure about that one but I would try having some with plenty of pie filling over it and see if that helps. Also try sprinkling Confectioners sugar over the top and then put pineapple or pie filling on top.

Swirl a syrup on top of each serving

So I forgot sugar before baking, I went to pour the batter back in bowl and you got it all the graham cracker fell in, whats a girl to do? Add the sugar blend together. .yummy graham cracker crunch cheesecake lol. It was great.

My recipe called for 1 cup and 2 T sugar which i left out by mistake. I mixed in 4 T additional powdered sugar into the sourcream topping and 1 c additional sugar into the strawberry topping that I had made. Usually I like the cake a bit sweet and the toppings tart but this time it’s the reverse. We just ate some and it worked fine. My husband said he wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t told him. Never give up. Progress, not perfection!

Thanks for your great suggestions…My family will be coming over for leftovers and I will keep you posted how we salvaged it!! Happy (day after) Thanksgiving!
