rh factor body produced antibodies...help!!!

Hello I am rh negative and have known this for years. I got the rhogam shot a couple months before I had my daughter in 2006. In october I found out that I had miscarried and the baby had quit developing a week and a half before we found out. I had my d N c on oct 1 and got my shot of rhogam the same day. I am now 8 weeks preg and my doctor told me today that in my last blood test showed antibodies. I am supposed to have another blood test done in 10 days. The doc thinks maybe its from the shot that I got or its just a false pos. If my next blood test isn't any better ill be labeled high rish and will see a specialist. What should I do? Should I try to move this along faster? Is the antibodoes from the rhogam? Should I be worried? Help!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm also Rh neg and my husband is Rh pos, so I've had a few Rhogam shots (one after our first loss, and two with my 2 1/2 year old). If I remember correctly, my doctor told me Rhogam lasts about 12 weeks, which is how long the antibody stays in your system. So I would think that if you received the antibody shot in Oct that it would probably still be in your blood and would show up positive on the antibody screen. But of course your doctors would know this better. I know it's hard not to worry, but try not to worry until they know anything for sure. Wishing you all the best!

Rhogam will last up to 12 weeks so it could be a false positive reading from the shot being in your system. It does happen and if it is from your blood they'll monitor you carefully throughout the pregnancy! Good luck!

Sorry for responding just now I just had a baby 7wks now and it's really hard to do some of those leasure activities I used to do. I to had devevloped antibodies in my blood, & I'm Rh neg. So of course the Dr. found this out the last trimester. Then I was considered a high-risk prgncy. I was induced at 37 weeks in order to get the baby out and not cause any medical damages. I would say don't rush the delivery If you can, they have lots of technology to help you and baby along the way.
