Recommendations on Learning Programs

My 3yr old son has recently been diagnosed with Sensory Integration Disorder on top of the speach delayment that we have been working on the past year. The sensory issues seem mild right now and he is speaking some words but we have been advised to get into a language intensive program. Of course many are full, we have looked into Callier (full), Shelton (full), Oak Hill (open), and recently have heard that the RISD has a preschool program called PPCD. I wasn't sure if anyone might have had some experience in these programs and if they would recommend any. We did ECI early on and it did not go well so I would be interested if anyone knows anything about the PPCD for RISD or Oakhill as at this time they seem to be available?

I am no expert but I can tell you my nephew was in a RISD school starting in kindergarten. It was a disaster.

My gut tells me to stick with a small school specializing in learning differences AND to do everything you can at home. I know there are exercises for sensory integration.

My son went to a small private school for children with learning differences. I know some of the children had sensory integration, but the small classrooms and patient teachers made a huge difference. My son recently graduated high school. You can no longer pick out the kids with sensory integration.

Plano and Frisco have excellent PPCD programs, and you can combine it with other programs as these are only 2 1/2 hours a day if your son qualifies.
Other options you may want to check are:

Our Children's House (Baylor)
Hope it helps
