possible to remove scratches from plexiglass?

Long story short... my son used a scour pad (for dishes) on our front door window - it is a plexiglass material. It is scratched... any ideas on how to 'remove' or 'tame' the scratched appearance... obviously, replacement is an option we'll need to consider.

Thanks!

How sweet of your son to "help" you clean house ;) Is that something they like to do a lot?

An older gentleman who's owned a hardware store for years said to use silicon spray on plexiglas. That is how he took care of the windows on his truck box cover.

I would try car wax

buy a new one

There is a polish used to removes scratches from iPods, etc... that might work for your situation. You can buy the polish at the Apple Store and probably Best Buy too.

Check out a bottle of Novus Scratch Remover. They have it for different degrees of scratches. I'm not sure if it is okay for plexiglass but it is for Motorcycle Windshields which I would think are very similar.

You can probably find it at a Harley Dealership or another motorcycle parts shop.
