I want to design a Kitchen island from Ikea (using the cabinet and parts), I would purchase the stuff but would need someone reliable (and with tools) to put the thing together for me - - any recommendations? Ikea does offer some services but I would like to find some pricing and help a local.

You can check with your local Chamber of Commerce to see if they have a listing of handypeople in their directory. Once you have a name, from any source, you can should go to your state's web site to make sure they are properly licensed, insured and if necessary, bonded. You can also check with your county's Consumer Affairs Department to make sure they don't have excessive complaints against them.
Also, if IKEA doesn't have a list of handypersons who would install them for you. One of the big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes, often have lists of contractors. You can check with them, as well.
I'd always make sure you check on proper licensing though, for your protection. Hope that helps.
