Moving from out of state and need help transitioning to/from Early Start Program

Hi there,

Perhaps you gals can help me out. My family may very well be moving to the Napa area this January. We currently live in New York and my almost three year-old son receives speech therapy in our Early Intervention Program (much like California's Early Start Program). My son turns three in November and will be transitioning from Early Intervention (ages 0-3) to the school district provided services here pending his re-evaluations this month (and trust me, he'll qualify no problem). But with the possible move in January, I'm all in a tussle! Does anyone know if the California school districts will accept developmental/speech evaluations from out of state? Or will we have to start over with the process when we get there (and lose a month or two of services)?

I know this sounds complicated, but I just know there's another mom out there who's familiar with this! :-)

Thanks for all your help. I'm going to start making phone calls to various administrative hubs soon.
