Hi there - a friend of mine has no insurance, self-employed, but makes just enough $ that he doesn't qualify for any type of aid. Does anyone know of a health insurance company that offers hospitalization only plans? Thanks!

I used Unicare when I was unemployed. It's not super expensive and there is a high deductable (you choose the amount) which covers you if you have an accident and it will cost you a lot of money. You also have a prescription plan with it and 2 paid doctor visits a year.
He could at least check it out.
I used Blue Cross of Illinois. He can call them and tell him what he needs and what he wants to spend and they can help find him plan.
